I always used broadcast for pitching. I feel it adds realism as if you were watching a game. I never thought to use it for batting. Using catchers view for me makes it hard for me to pick up breaking balls, especially those 12-6 curve balls. Forever swing at breaking balls in the dirt from that view.

Re: Cant wait to hit from broadcast view!
I use this view for both pitching and hitting. Obviously I roll with Timing. I try to replicate a true-to-life broadcast as much as possible. I also feel the attributes play a bigger role with Timing, which might lead to more accurate stats.Comment

Re: Cant wait to hit from broadcast view!
Picking up breaking balls is the main advantage of broadcast view in my opinion. Hitting lefties with a left hand batter is challenging for sure but really rewarding when you make good contact. Very realistic imo. I just wish you could see the ball come off the bat longer instead of immediately switching to the fielding view. Hardball 3 believe it or not had this down perfectly..lol. Showing my age I guess...Comment

Re: Cant wait to hit from broadcast view!
Also the catcher doesn't put down real signs. It just goes through the same signs over and over. It's not like a catcher puts down a 1 and the pitcher shakes his head yes. Sure you can see where the catcher sets up but I have found on a ton of occasions that isn't where the ball ends up.Comment

Re: Cant wait to hit from broadcast view!
yeah the catcher doesnt put down real signs, but you can get a good look at alot of the pitchers grips from this view.
depending on how fast their windup is.
Is really easy to tell if they are throwing a changeup, split, slider, 12-6 curve, just by closely watching their grip on the ball.
by the way, using this view is the only way i can play a baseball game. just cant get into playing the game from behind the catcher view.
Thats why i am always pissed this game never allows you to see where the ball is going after you make contact in this view.Last edited by Splitter77; 04-16-2014, 08:07 AM.Comment

Re: Cant wait to hit from broadcast view!
When I would pitch from broadcast view, I turned off all on screen displays. Also had the API on for the catcher to tell me where to throw. The numbers he puts down is what number pitch it is. Like Fastball (X) would be 1, changeup (circle) would be 2, curveball (triangle) would be a 3 for example. I always use that now. And if you want a new sign, you gotta hit the step off mound button (I believe it's R1?).Last edited by Side Effect; 04-18-2014, 01:48 AM.Comment

Re: Cant wait to hit from broadcast view!
Im sticking with catcher view for batting mainly cause I like to switch the view, so I can see more of the stadium and the field. Having them both on broadcast you only see the stadium behinde the batter. And I like to see bothComment

Re: Cant wait to hit from broadcast view!
hmm, never knew the catcher signs were right. i've been hitting from broadcast view since i can remember. glad i find it easy to not pay attention to the catcher. i'd hate to have to call in the MIB guys to flashy thing me, as i've just read the previous posts in this thread.Comment
