Minor is a stud early on in my Rtts, he won the Cy Young in 2016 when I won the MVP. unfortunately the game isn't smart enough to move him out of the 3rd spot in the rotation so he didn't get to pitch as much in the playoffs.

Re: MLB 14 The Show PS4: Road to the Show Thread
The 2022 season has been frustrating. Personally it's going good, mid June I'm batting .345 with 22 HR's and 48 RBI's. Atlanta pitching has been terrible. Ever since the 2021 NLCS when (with a 2-1 series lead) we gave up 35 runs in games 3-4-5. We are losing so many games by scores like 14-6, 13-4.. And we sit at roughly .500 at this point in the season. I could have more RBI's if guys would get on base moreFavorite Teams:

Re: MLB 14 The Show PS4: Road to the Show Thread
I've just started a new 3B named Chauncey Jones. He is the son of legendary Braves 3B Chipper Jones. He has 5 flex points on power and 4 on contact, so he is a hitting focus type of player. About to go play the topps showcase, and will most likely be going straight into the draft. Update soonComment

Re: MLB 14 The Show PS4: Road to the Show Thread
After throwing down a .300 AVG in the Topps Showcase, Chancey Jones apparently didn't impress the scouts too much as he goes to the Cincinatti Reds in the 5th round of the draft. Not quite where he expected to be, but he's happy to get drafted either way. Chancey was quoted as saying "I'm still not where I want to be defensively, but that's what Double-A does for you, gets you prepared for The Show. I think that by the end of this year, I'll be beyond Double-A and possible even playing Spring Training next year with the Reds. I look forward to helping this organization win championships."Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show PS4: Road to the Show Thread
Finally won the derby in 2022, again made the All Star game as the starting 3B. Having a good year, batting .342 with 33 HR's and 75 RBI here in late July. Idk why it seems that's 24-26 of my HR's were solo shots cuz they most always happen with no one on.. And Braves pitching is just terrible, they don't usually have a lot of bad innings, they just have 1 terrible inning. Anyways the NL East is bad this year and at 56-52 we're only 1.5 out of 1st. The Mets, Marlins, Braves and Phillies are all with 4.5 of each other, Nats are 22.5 backFavorite Teams:

There's no way to skip to your appearance in the derby it's there? I've been invited the past couple seasons but I can't sit there and watch all the other batters. I didn't see any way to skip to my round.

Yeah lol. It's pretty plain as day. It says like skip ahead or something and then you can choose "next round," "next user batter," etc. It's in the pause menuComment

Re: MLB 14 The Show PS4: Road to the Show Thread
End of 1st season update:
"Captain" Kirk Schaeffer: SP Minnesota Twins
2014 AL ROY
15W-3L
187 Innings Pitched
1.93 ERA
25 Starts-22 Quality Starts
5-Complete games (3 Shutouts)
15 HR's allowed
206K's
17BB's
.90 WHIP
-A great rookie season for Captain who after making adjustments following his AA to MLB promotion, went on to post dominate numbers in is first season and eventually finished 2nd in K's, 3rd in CY Young voting and took home the AL Rookie of the Year. However, despite Captains best efforts the Twins ended the season 20 games under .500.
From here on out, I think I'm just going to post midseason and end of season updates and maybe a few other updates per season based if something warrants discussing.Comment

Anyone know how to get perception changed from Rising superstar to perennial All Star? I'm 8 seasons in with a 99 rating..Favorite Teams:

Early on in the season on the AA team and im doing pretty well. Im hitting .400 in the first week of the season and just looking to spend the first year improving.Comment

Rookie Prospect, James Best Shines In Early Performance
The Double A season maybe young but 4th round MLB draft pick James Best shone in the Jacksonville Suns big win against Birmingham. Best achived the rare Cycle feat hitting a Single,Double,Triple and 2 Home Runs. In doing this Best hit 5 RBI, 4 of which were on his own. Best was quoted as saying "I Hope to build on this performance and continue to develop my game" Will this performance get the attention of the Miami Marlins the team which chose Best in the 2014 First Year Player Draft.

Re: MLB 14 The Show PS4: Road to the Show Thread
Also I would like to say that abitration ****ing sucks. It really does.
Drafted in the 5th round by white sox. Whole first year in Double A. 2nd year was on white sox bench. Got 10 ABs (2 for 10) and was traded to Indians. Got another 10 ABs (1 for 7, 3 walks) was sent down to triple A. I'm like f that and requested trade and was traded to the Astros and played well the rest of the season. I would play the next 6 seasons for them.
The first 2 where fine. I've improve drastically and got invited to the home run derby (and won) and made my first 2 all star games. Me and George Springer where carrying the team offensively (me: .280 26 HR 75 RBI spring: .275 21 HR 95 RBI average those 2 years) but our team was trash (sub 60 2B and SS = balls flying over my head constantly) .We had trash pitching (Dead last in ERA every year) and pitiful offense (outside of me and Springer, team batted under. 230 on average) and thus end those season last in the division.
Guess Springer was more tired than I was and he got traded to the Indians. I was on my last year of a 3 year contract the Indians so I figured (not knowing how baseball worked) I will get to pick my next team.
Anyways the season ends and I find out about arbitration.Apparently you have to "serve" 6 years in the MLB to become a free agent and despite playing 5 seasons it only counts my time in "the show" which was like 2.125 years (guessing the .125 is from the 20 ABs in Chicago and Cleveland). So I was forced to play for them for 3 1/2 more years (they refused to trade me).
During my 8th season (6th with them) after my 5TH ASG selection they finally trade me to the Yankees. Bunch of no names and today's starting SS of the Rockies (can't spell his name) but they were 1st in the division. Rejuvenated by the trade I finished strong and won AL MVP (.295 AVG 44 HR 126 RBI) and went to the playoffs. We lost in the divisional round to the A's in 5. The next year we get to the world series against the Nationals but we lost in 5.
Entering my 10 year at 31 I'm ready to have an even better year but its getting harder and harder as my player ages. Everything is trending down constantly but I like the challenge of keeping my attributes up (2k should take note).

6 games left in 2022 and I'm on the edge of another triple crown. But this time it's a game of catch up. Big leads in HR and RBI category, however I trail my own teammate in average. I'm at .344 and he's at .347Favorite Teams:

Got it done to win the triple crown again. As well as the NL MVP for the 3rd time, Hank Aaron award for the 2nd time in a row, Silver Slugger 3B for the 5th time and batting average champ for 2nd time in a rowFavorite Teams:
