What is 3.1 plate appearances per team games played? I've made at least 3 ABs per team faced but I don't seem to be able to get on the leader board.

Not to mention we are heading into the post season right now and I've yet to be able to crack into bating average leader board. With 1 series left, is there even a chance to get into the league leader board at all?
Update: Finished the season, couldn't even crack the leader board despite having 435 ABs with 180 Hits. I read up and found out about the adjustments to attain the batting title.

Not sure if it was applicable but if it was, my overall 0.358 just barely edged out the leader by 0.01 but I still didn't get anything.

0 awards, only led in RBIs. What a letdown.

Re: MLB 14 The Show PS4: Road to the Show Thread

Been a while since my last update. After my first MLB season I played another month with the Phillies and could no longer take being on such a bad team (we won a whole 3 games in the month of April) so I asked for a trade and went to the Red Sox. Success!

Being on a contending team got me out of my hitting slump, too. I went from hitting .232 in my first season to .263 in my second, and also saw WAY more production. I went from 10 HRs to 23, and 36 RBIs to 108, also leading the league in doubles with 50. My stolen bases dropped from 51 to 42 but that was the only decline. We made it into the wildcard game but lost 2-0 to the Angels.

Second season with the Red Sox and I progressed again. Finished the season .301/.352/.566, 26 HR, 96 RBI, 47 SB. The team also won 117 games but once again we faltered in the postseason, losing to the Rays three games to one in the first round.

After that Napoli retired due to age despite hitting 40 HRs and driving in 130 odd runs. Also, for some reason our rookie SS who had a 94 rating, won ROTY by batting over .300 with over 30 HRs and 100 RBIs, has seen his rating drop to 76 now. I have no idea why but it's clear the team is worse this year. I got a 4-year contract for $34m anyway.

Plate Appearances and ABs are different. Walks and Sac Flies count as a PA but not an AB, for example. And 3.1 PAs per team games played just means you have to have an average of 3.1 PAs per games that your team has played. So for example, to show up in the list by the end of the season, you'd need 502.2 plate appearances (162 games x 3.1). So it sounds like you came in just under that.

Boost your Durability and your manager will give you fewer days off, if you're already listed as a Starter on your team.

          435 AB's/162 games = 2.68 ABs per game.

My first Road to the Show (ever) : Third Baseman/SS Colin Gronk. I struggled in the rookie showcase, as I'm still learning how to play the game. Yet, I got drafted ~11th in the seventh round by the San Diego Padres. I was starting at third base for their Double A team, the San Antonio Missions. That is, until I got hurt sliding feet first into second base. I was removed from that game due to a bruised leg, and missed a few games. I come back, and now I'm the starting short stop. I'm getting a better grip of how to hit/field, but baserunning is killing me. (Loving this game!)

My centerfield I decided to go to a 4 year school, was drafted 6th or 8th overall (not sure) by Seattle). My overall is at 83 A-potential. I used 6,000 stubs to help my overall, mostly in speed and fielding..I'm in my first year. I was called up from AA 35 games into the season. Destroyed AA.. I hit .547 with 13 HRS/ 34RBI/ 10 SB.
I'm currently hit .405 19 HRS 48RBI 20SB.. I have 15BB and only 11K in 172 AB. I have at least one hit in every game since being called up (42-44 games)I'm using Marino sliders with hybrids rosters( not sure who's).

I am so tired of lining out all the time. Maybe cuz I'm using Timing. But my God. It's all I do. I'll sting it, and the infielders don't even need to move.

I'd rather ground out any time. At least then I have the illusion of being able to beat the throw out or the chance for an error.

I have had 2 2nd baseman on the Cubs and they always trade away Baez I guess because him and Castro play the same position so they just say F it we don't neeed 2 A potential players.

Decided to start a new Road To Show with another 2nd baseman on the Cubs again only due to the fact that it was 2017 and Kris Bryant still wasn't our starting 3rd Baseman and it was really irritating me lol.
so I made him better than mike Olt and started over. Got drafted 2nd round by the Cubs pick 5 only because I chose my team when I just entered the draft in stead of picking my team I was drafted like 14 I believe so Cubs got a steal by getting me in the second with B potential. Currently only a month in batting .405avg will give a full update whenever they move me up to AAA

Is there an adjustment rule? Where they count the remaining PAs as 0 hits to make up the difference?

In-fact there is an adjustment rule. Started in 1967..just as you described.

                              Unexpected Call Up

2nd Baseman Jerry Finger drafted in the 2nd round pick 5 by the Cubs has been called up to the show on June 19th and will now be their everyday starter. After 2 1/2 months of terrorizing pitchers in Double AA ball the young rising superstar and fans alike were all wondering when this great prospect would get moved up to AAA Iowa. But it never came even though in 239ABs in double A he had a .406avg 97H 37R 8HRs and 41RBIs.
It was clear he deserved to be in AAA but the Cubs looked like they had no plans on moving him up at all. But they deceived us all as they decided to skip AAA altogether and bring the 22yr old straight to The Show. When asked abou his big call up Finger had this to say " Man it was such a shock to me I got the phone call like right after the Double A all star game and I was expecting to hear I was going to Iowa but when Theo said welcome to Chicago kid, I almost passed out. I mean this being my hometown and getting to start in my 1st year after being drafted is a dream come true. I cant wait to get out there and help the team win some games."
The Cubs are 31-41 6.5 games behind the divison leading Cardinals with the call up of one of the Top Prospects in Baseball they are looking to make a run at the playoffs. It will be interesting to see if the Cubs call up there other Superstar in the making Kris Bryant even though he has been struggling in AAA Iowa. But for now we will get to enjoy this budding superstar blossom in the show in place of SS Javier Baez who was traded for RP Tyler Clifford.

Gronk had been struggling until the last game I played. Gronk entered a nasty hitting slump, but turned it around with a 3 doubles last game. Gronk also got 2 RBIs, helped in two double plays and got another in field assist. Gronk has progressed up to a 60 overall, and is now the starting short stop for the San Antonio Missions.
