2014 Season Re-Cap
The Cubs finished the year off with a 87-75 record and since the Cardinals had a bad year we both tied for the division lead so we had a one game do or die match to see who would win the division. Somehow this game my 2nd baseman had to sit out the most important game of the season but we still won 12-9 luckily. my 2nd Baseman finished the year off with 286AB 88H 6HR 38RBI .308avg I finished 3rd in Rookie of the Year votes only because Alex Guerrero of the Dodgers who won had 499AB 108H 12HR 55RBI .216avg, so since he had more at bats his stats were better so they gave it to him unfortunately.
Playoffs
We went on to face the Nationals in the NLDS and got swept in 3 games and over the course of the 3 games our team only scored 2 runs compared to the Nationals 22. Even though my second baseman had a 800. batting average over the course of the 3 games our team had a lot of hits but just not at the right times we weren't able to produce any runs and our pitchers struggled so we had a quick exit from the playoffs after fighting so hard to get there. We weren't satisfied with our little taste and defiantly plan on being in the post season much longer in 2015.
Off-Season
I immediately signed a 1yr deal for 500,000 already knowing the team basically owns me for 6years and I wont get what im worth until im able for arbitration.
Theo Epistein was busy and signed SP Max Scherzer to a 4yr contract worth 44mil. They let Mike Olt become a free agent in order to give Kris Bryant his chance.
Now we have a nice SP rotation of Scherzer 88ovr, Samardzija 86ovr, Wood 79ovr, Arrieta 77ovr, Jackson 77ovr, and with 2 nice RP Tyler Clippard 82ovr who we traded Javier Baez for last season and Pedro Strop 78ovr. We have the pitchers to keep us in every game now.
Our infield is full of potential stars 1B Rizzo 83ovr, 2BFinger 79ovr (that's My Dude), 3B Kris Bryant 73ovr , SS Castro 86ovr,
Our catcher is average Castillo 75ovr
Our outfield is full of young potential LF Lake 73ovr, CF Ruggiano 71ovr, RF Jorge Soler 70ovr and plus our young stud CF Albert Almora is on the rise up 66ovr
So we have a young lineup with some nice pitching and our hoping to go far this year in the playoffs. well time to start training camp.
First Game of training Camp
Our Newly acquired Ace Scherzer had a terrible game pitching 2 inning giving up 9 Hits and 7 runs
Rising Superstar 2nd Baseman Jerry Finger went 4-5 with 1 run scored in a 6-10 loss for the Cubs even though both teams were tied with 12 hits a piece.
Cubs can hit with the best of them just gotta start producing runs and pitchers gotta be better.
