Re: MLB 14 The Show PS4: Road to the Show Thread

in the first year, my SP goes up on AAA and ML.

but, if in the AAA i was oustanding, 138 SO in 15 played, in ML i'm yet young.
    18 years and overral 72.

I can't do my job in the ML, and now i'm in the bullpen list.

do 1 or 2 inning, give few point and i'm in stuck.

need to improve better this part... i must do more years in bullpen lst to improve my skill.

This is my worst fear. Really don't want to be promoted before I'm ready. My ERA is awfully low after 4 starts and I just want to stay in AAA.

Re: MLB 14 The Show PS4: Road to the Show Thread

Looking to make another RTTS to add to the 2 I have. I already have a SS and a 1B. Did primarily a 3B in MLB 13 The Show. I've stayed away from outfielders because I find the camera and tracking the ball too confusing. I usually think I'm about to get under a ball, then completely over-run it.

But playing all infield in my 2 RTTS's already, I'm tempted to try some outfield. Anyone have tips on how to play RTTS outfield better? I guess I could make one and try the showcase, but looking for some opinions, or other positions you guys find fun. Thanks guys

I play outfield with my rtts. It can be hard and frustrating at times but if you stick with it you will get better. It feels really rewarding that i dont have an error through April. If you played outfield in real life, it feels similar in my opinion with judging the ball.

My RTTS player's primary is RF, but for his secondary I put IF and now I play a lot of games at 3rd as well.

The outfield isn't so tough one you get used to it. The indicator points you in the correct direction and turns green as you get closer.

Keep at it and the fielding will come along.

Thanks man, I think I'll give it a shot. Admittedly I probably haven't spent enough time on it to really get used to it, but I want a change of pace from all the IF I've been playing. I think I'll make a CF. thanks for the reply.

                  It's all good.

I absolutely hated playing the outfield in the beginning. So much so that I had turned off all fielding opportunities. Then Koolie talked me into switching it to some. I kept at it and now I love playing the outfield. The one thing I have yet to master is robbing guys of homers. I often get balls hit just over the fence and I can't seem to time my jump properly.

Stick with playing outfield and keep us updated Eastin.

Definitely will post updates, maybe tomorrow if I make progress tonight. About to get started, still deciding the play style I want the player to have, or who to model it after. But looking forward to it, it'll be something different than what I've done recently.

N.T. Jones notches win 10! and what a way to do it. complete game 1 hit shut out with 15k. The lone hit was a weak dribbler to first and jones was running over to cover and for no reason he stops running. If anything it should have been scored an error. But I was just dialed in complete game 103 pitches.

Makes up for my last outing against pittsburgh, I've gone 6, given up 2 hits 9k I am at 84 pitches and really just cruising, it's 1-0 us. I walk mccutcheon, and get pulled, of course he comes around and scores and we lose. 84 pitches and I'm getting pulled? I've been on auto pilot, I can finish off the 4,5,6 hitters easily. Eh well terrible no decision, could have been back to back complete game shut outs

                      on the year I'm 10-2 .56 era .70 whip 128.1 ip 176k

Well after getting called up to the Triple A Indianapolis Indians in June my RF Clark Kent really helped them out. We finished the regular season 80-64 with a playoff run coming. I was anticipating playing in the playoffs with them but it wasn't to be. Clark Kent has been called up to the Majors and is now part of the 40 Man Roster for the Pittsburgh Pirates. He will be making his MLB debut on September 3rd against the St. Louis Cardinals.

I was doing great in my AA and AAA...so the Nationals put me in their 40-man roster. But most of the game I played was as a PH! I only played like 3-4 games out of 50 plus games in the season. I asked for more time, but the coach said that the man playing SS is doing great as 2B. I am in 2B position. The other 2B guys are not playing.

I am pissed....because I cannot earn much points and then my player is starting to get this "-" in some of his attributes. After the season, I asked for so much money...but they only gave me like 550K (i haggle with the price) and they gave me 1 year contract.

Any reason why they kept me as a PH instead of letting me develop either in AA or AAA?

and in the last game of the season, N.T. Jones goes out and pitches another absolute gem against the cards.

complete game 1 hit shut out 2 walks 13k. back to back complete game shut outs back to back double digit strikeouts and back to back one hitters.

                            my last two games 18 ip 2 hits 2 walks 0er 0r 28k 2-0

First small update on my newest RTTS character. I decided to do a LF and I gave him a lot of power, and a lot of speed. Bats & throws left. Ken Griffey Jr. Batting stance.

I did good in the show case at the plate, including 3 doubles, and a home run (didn't take note of the official stats, maybe I can go back and look.)

As I said in posts yesterday, I struggled in the outfield, but I expected to. Still trying to get the hang of it, I misplayed some deep fly balls but didn't make any errors.

Draft projection was mid first round, and ended up getting taken by the Rockies (pick 11 or 12 I think) Double A debut against Corpus Christi went 2-4 with a single and a double. Misplayed 1 ball that resulted in a run.

I'm obviously blocked at Coors field behind Carlos Gonzalez in LF, but I put secondary position as OF. I wanted my LF to be on the fast track to the show, but we'll see. Will post more updates as things happen.

3rd year for my 2nd Baseman for the Cubs thru 28 games the Cubs are 18-13 with a 1 game lead over the Cardinals for the Central Division

The 2016 season has been a great one for the Cubs and their Star 2nd baseman Jerry Finger. He currently leads the league with a .358BA. Not to mention he is 3rd in hits with 39, 4th in HRs with 8,9th in RBIs with 21, 10th in Runs with 18, and 2nd in stolen bases with 8. This kid is literally a jack of all trades. Other than this unexpected Great start by the Cubs Young Talent.
The Cubs also have to thank their great pitching staff particularly newly acquired Ace Jordan Zimmerman who is 5-0 with a 1.95era and Jeff Samardzija who is 4-1 with a 3.20era.
Travis wood who was the teams Ace last year hasn't started off to well early this season with a record of 2-4 and a 4.26era
The debate at 3rd base is getting critical with Kris Bryant producing down in AAA and Olt having a career year in the Majors questions have started to rise should they trade one of the 2. Cubs already have gotten rid of one potential superstar in Javy Baez 2years ago with the thought that Finger and Castro would be better and they were right. Could they potentially trade away a Top Prospect like 24yr old Bryant or 27yr old Olt.
One thing is for Certain this Cubs team has the potential to lead the team to the Promise Land especially if Finger and Zimmerman have anything to say about it.
