Thank you. So far, I like it. I found that I do better when I turn the visual of the PCI off - it helps me focus better on where the pitch is gonna be.

Re: MLB 14 The Show PS4: Road to the Show Thread

Just finished my first full season with the SF Giants, winning our division and conference by a mile. My stats for 2015 are:

      32 GP, 19-5 W/L, 1.66 ERA, 28 QS, 2 CG, 2 SHO, 217.1 IP, 194 K's, 0.90 WHIP.

I won the CY Young award ahead of Jordan Zimmermann with a 18-5 record and my fellow teammate Matt Cain also with a 18-5 record. Come postseason time, the best pitcher on the team doesn't get one start in the division, conference, and World Series! Just stays on the bench for every game. Talk about angry! I am the fourth starter though on the rotation so that must be why. And the three starters ahead of me have good records and are more proven than this young pitcher: Madison Bumbarner 18-6, Matt Cain 18-5, and Tim Lincecum 19-6. Still you would think after winning the CY Young award you would earn at least one start in the postseason.
Now Playing: MLB 11: The Show, Battlefield BC2, Pokemon White, Portal 2, Mass Effect 2 (still), COD: Black Ops, FIFA '11

Waiting For: Mass Effect 3, Battlefield 3, Uncharted 3, LA Noire, Batman Arkham City, The Last Guardian, Battlefield 3, Gears of War 3, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier

With OSFM Hybrid only days away, and then a version with pitch edits coming shortly after, I'm tempted to restart. BUT I've already put like 15 hours into my guy lol. This is a tough one.

Highlights from my RTTS so far (drafted by Astros in 2nd round):

-first career HR was in AA and it was a walk-off grand slam for a 8-7 win

-called up to AAA after just 31 games in AA as an injury replacement

-hit 5 straight HRs in first 2 AAA games; called up to MLB after less than 20 games

-was a single short of the cycle vs. the Angels and in my last at bat hit a sinking liner to center but Trout dove and made a great catch

-Houston just traded Scott Feldman straight up for Matt Holiday

What is OSFM hybrid? I assume it's different then the regular OSFM rosters?

              Yep.

OSFM: Knight and crew add all the minor leaguers, they don't touch the MLB guys at all.

OSFM Hybrid: Willard and his crew take Knight's rosters and then use ZiPs projections to re-rate a ton of players, as well as equipment/stances and stuff along the way.

Then, after that, a 3rd roster will come out that is the OSFM Hybrid roster with seanjeezys pitching edits. These change every pitchers pitch repertoire and velocity to be more accurate to real life.

Made a CF, RF secondary, and hoping to make him into a 30-30 guy, bats right (I'm a natural lefty and I always like to make a RH RttS guy because it helps even me out in franchise batting). Got drafted by the Reds in the third round. While I was ecstatic to end up in one of baseball's most historic organizations, I've got Billy Hamilton and Jay Bruce firmly entrenched in front of me.

Year one I was pretty damn good with the Blue Wahoos, but struggled with three different injuries—the third, a broken leg which ended my season in late July. Still finished the year with .312 BA, 9hr, 58 RBI in only 59 games.

Currently a 69ovr, and didn't get an invite to spring training in year two. Still firmly entrenched as a AA starter, but it's understandable given my injury troubles as an 18 year old.

Not sure what chance I have of making it to the Show with the Reds at this point, Hamilton progressed to a 77 in the off-season, and Bruce is obviously in his prime in RF, and one o the best hitters on the team. I'm just going to ride it out and hope I can get to AAA soon, we'll see from there, but I don't blame the Reds if the choose Hamilton and his speed over me.

Re: MLB 14 The Show PS4: Road to the Show Thread

So after crushing AA and AAA and winning the AAA Championship, my career in the big leagues hasn't gone particularly well so far. I began the season on the bench but it didn't take long before I became a starter despite my general uselessness as a pitch hitter.

For some reason the Phillies have me batting third, probably because this team is so bad my 80-rated player is the third best player on the roster.

So far in 79 games and 186 at-bats my stats are .226/.290/.629, 5 HR, 15 RBI, 17 SB. Not great, although I will blame my low number of RBIs both on my batting performance and the fact I very rarely bat with anyone actually on base. I have scored 28 runs, though. I also seem very unlucky since I make solid contact the vast majority of the time, it just always seem to go straight at people. I can't count the amount of times I've hit it up the middle only for it to crash into the pitcher for him to pick it up and throw me out.

For now I'm just trying to get that batting average up, upgrade my attributes and hopefully have a better second season. I may even request a trade because being 20.5 games back at this stage isn't the most exciting.

I'm thinking about requesting a trade. I was hoping Cincinnati would call me up to be a role/bench player behind Phillips, but still no luck. Hitting .320 in AAA, and Santiago is hitting .197 as the bench player. I can play shortstop too, but Frazier is having a pretty good year.

I'll probably tough it out and wait though. I want to play for the Reds.

Started a 2nd basemen. Didn't think I played well enough in the showcase to earn an A potential, but that's what I got. Unfortunately I got drafted to the White Sox in the first round. Not sure if I should just play it out and hope I get traded, or actually ask for a trade. It's the one team i didn't want to get drafted by.

My Pitcher I created, some notes so far:
Did "okay" in the showcase, made a fastball, change, slider pitcher with good velocity.
Drafted 3rd round by the A's. I started out in the 60's overall with a C potential.
I'm someone who loves to utilize Excel, so I have a spreadsheet with game logs.

Anyways, year 1 so far, I did well there, and my final start for the Midland Rockhounds ended up being a gem, complete game shutout striking out 8. Made the AA All Star team too. Finished at AA going 7-1 in 15 starts, pitching 106 innings, giving up 87 hits, 15 walks, 115 K's with a 2.04 ERA and .972 WHIP.
Promoted to AAA on June 26th, where I flat out dominated my first AAA start with another complete game shutout striking out 10 this time. So far in 5 starts at AAA, I am 4-0 with a 2.31 ERA, .743 WHIP with 28 K's in 35 innings. My K's have dropped considerably of late, as well as my effectiveness. My team is GREAT so far, which has helped me with my 4-0 record, and honestly I've pitched to contact a lot as I have been given huge leads. No sense trying to paint corners when you have a 5+ run cushion in the middle/late parts of games.
I need to stop trying to make perfect pitches though, because it tends to leave meatballs or I get too far behind in the count if I miss. One game I gave up 7 hits, and 5 of them were extra bases. I need to be okay with a walk when the alternative is a double.

Now late July, I am a 72 overall with a B potential. I am working on becoming a dominant K pitcher, and just go through this year in AAA and honestly might be in AAA next year as well, with eyes on a mid season/late call up next year.

OK I mentioned before about how my team basically cut George Springer in the offseason and it drove me crazy, I considered restarting, etc.

Now, they just blew that idiocy out of the water. They just traded Carlos Correa, the number 1 motherf... draft pick, as well as another A prospect shortstop, and a THIRD B potential prospect, foooor.... Eric Young Jr.

If anybody in SCEA is reading this, is there any way you guys are going to add back in the manual injuries into RTTS mode in a patch? If so, I'll probably just wait until that comes. And if not, I'm probably going to start over. This is just too much. I can't suspend my disbelief enough to believe that the Astros would trade a 20 year old #1 overall pick, A potential, top prospect in the organization, for a 70 overall 29 year old outfielder.

In last few years' games, at least we had a way to counter the absurd, illogical and inexplicable trades by using the manual injury function: reload the save, give a player an injury for 2 days, he can't be traded. Boom. Now we have NOTHING to keep our RTTS careers from jumping the shark.

Just had my best game in RTTS. Went 3/5 with a grand slam and a 3 run HR.

Currently the Mississippi Braves (AA) are 25-25.

                            I am 35/95 (.368) with 7 HR, 27 RBI, and 3 SB.

I am rated 62 overall, but my adjusted OVR is 70. Hoping to get up to AAA soon...

Well I mentioned my pitcher was doing alright in AAA, and I figured I'd end up there and spend the next season in AAA fine tuning stuff before getting the call up.
Much to my surprise, the A's called me up on August 6th when Sonny Gray suffered an injury and I was tabbed to be the injury replacement. I was only a 73 rated overall and quite frankly a couple other pitchers in AAA I believe could've been slotted to get called up ahead of me, but they tabbed me.

I made my Major League Debut August 9th vs the Minnesota Twins. Pretty shaky outing, but efficient enough.
7 innings, 9 hits, 3 runs all earned, 1 walk and 6 K's. Was in line for the win, left when it was 7-3, and the bullpen blew it. I also was trotted out to pitch the start of the 8th even though i had thrown around 110 pitches at that point, low on energy and the Twins had the 2-3-4 due up. Dozier led off with a fantastic bunt hit, so they took me out with Mauer coming up.

Honestly, I would've preferred to tune up my pitches/etc more for another season, but heck in the Majors already wohoo!

My first baseman has entered into mid August in triple hitting around .350.

I have a decision to make though. I have been playing on Dynamic Difficulty and the game just upped the level to Legendary. Something about that difficulty level just intimidates me though. So, the question I have to answer is "Do I leave Dynamic Difficulty on or set the difficulty on Hall of Fame and leave it there". In my defense I always have played on all-star prior to this year.
