Re: MLB 14 The Show PS4: Road to the Show Thread

I tried searching the thread but couldn't find anything on it so sorry if this was brought up before (as it probably has).

Is there any difference in being an A potential out of the draft or a C or D potential?

Re: MLB 14 The Show PS4: Road to the Show Thread

Started a LF/SS RTTS when the osfm rosters dropped.

Did great in the Showcase but had an average 3rd game that took me out of the first round. Got picked 7th by my hometown Phillies in the second round.

Had a solid start in AA but couldn't hit any deep balls. Played 24 games before I got called up to AAA. Ended my AA career batting .281 with 13RBI, 6 doubles, 1 triple and 3 home runs.

I hit AAA hard. Switched to 3B for the quickest path to the majors but they played me at DH most of my time there. I was leading the league in doubles and was basically guaranteed an All Star spot before getting called up. Batted a monstrous .372 with 31RBI, 11 doubles, 2 triples, 10HR, and 55 hits over 35 games.

Got called up to the majors and my success in AAA carried over. Ended up coming in and leading the team in Homers despite only playing in 75 games. Batted .313 with 53RBI, 8 doubles, 4 triples, 22 HR, with 92 hits in total. Got robbed by Javier Baes for RoTY despite hitting the same number of Homers and having a much better batting average than he did.

Unfortunately, the rest of the team was plagued with injuries and poor play overall. We didn't even come close to the playoffs.

Signed a 1 year deal with the Phils for 545k. I'm really contemplating a trade so I can play SS and be on a successful team but the idea of sticking around and becoming the hometown hero sounds nice.

Damn, catchers are no jokes to win gold glove lol. Yeah I play LF and was wondering do i have to be perfect and have a lot of assists to win it.

In my Griffey RTTS (still in AAA) in the Rockies org. The Rockies traded major league starting CF Drew Stubbs to the Red Sox for Trey Ball, Anthony Ranaudo, and Mookie Betts. I have no idea why the Red Sox made this trade, but our Rockies farm system got a lot better.

Anyways, my CF is now the highest rated CF in the organization, and there's not even an MLB player listed above my player in the comparison section. My player is ranked the highest just as AAA Starter.

Thought maybe I'd get a call up just out of necessity, but it hasn't happened yet. Not sure who starts in CF full time for the Rockies, but I saw one game they put 2B DJ Lemahieu (spelling?) there. I'm sure I can play better than him lol.

That's what's going on for now, still waiting for a call up, will post more updates soon.

Still don't understand why a lot of u guys just don't pick what team u go to especially seeing as baseball has the 6years until u become a free agent thing. But if your just trying to get paid I think after 2years your eligible for arbitration as long as your one of the best at your position, than u can basically ask for however much u think your worth and will get it just as a 1yr deal tho pending a judges ruling.

CPU Player progression in Road to the Show

It never seems like the young players with high potentials ever get any better really im using the OSFM rosters and Kris Bryant 3rd baseman for the cubs started off at like a 70 and after 3years he is only a 72 and he is has A potential just curious as to how cpu players progress it seems really slow to me

Having A potential doesn't mean they'll progress no matter what anymore. Some will, some won't. It's based more heavily on performance now.

yea I see that now but it sucks when we have a A potential 3rd baseman with a 72overall 75 adjusted age 24 but our starter is 27yr old 76overall Bpotential and our management wont trade either of them. Would love to be playing with another A potential player. sucks I wont be able to though.

Front office AI needs to be better no reason Kris Bryant shouldn't be our starter especially since him and Olt have been great for us. Olt should get traded to make way for our potential superstar

                    August 1st Cubs 81-55

I had a chance to interview 2nd baseman Jerry Finger about his chances of making it into the 40-40 club in just the last 6 games the young 2nd baseman has had 5 HRs to bring his total to 31. he currently has 39 steals. When asked about it he had this to say.

" I don't really care about HRs I consider myself to be more of a hitter for a good average with good power. But I wont lie when I saw I had a chance to make the 40-40 club I did decide to ramp up my power hits. (chuckles) I would love to be a member of that exclusive club no doubt. But whats most important is us making it to the playoffs were only 3.5 games ahead of the Cards gotta finish this month off strong."

With only a month left and him only needing 1steal and 9HRs I would bet my money on this kid making it into the 40-40 club.

Not only is Finger in the running for the 40-40 club but he also has a fighters chance at The Glorious Triple Crown. He currently leads the league with a .341 batting average, and 171 hits which is 8 more hits than Joey Votto who is in 2nd place. The problem is HRs he currently sits in 5th with 31 the league leader Troy Tulowitzki has 36.

So its highly possible if he continues this HR streak by the end of the season the superstar 2nd baseman could be a 40-40 club member and Triple Crown Winner which to my knowledge has never been done before and would be the first time ever so this will defiantly be things to look out for from this young stud.

I just got called up to the Mariners' main roster and skipping AAA. I can not wait to play with them.

Edit: I just finished my first MLB game against the A's, my stats weren't that impressive

                      1-4 w/ an RBI double.

Finished my 2017 season with the Rockies and man it was a great one. We finished with a league best 105-57 record and went on to win the world series against the Tampa Devil Rays, we ended up sweeping them. I will say St. Louis Cardinals did put up a hell of a fight in the NCLS! That series went to all the way to game 7 with us winning 9-8. I was really worried we weren't going to do too well in the playoffs after losing Nolan Arenando to a torn ACL in late September but Jordan Pacheco was huge in the playoffs after filling in for him.

I finished that season Batting .332 29 Hrs 96 RBIs 204 hits and 107 Runs scored really good year for the 24 year old. Won the Hanks Aaron Award and led the national league with triples. Red Sox made a huge mistake in trading me but a least they were smart to trade me to the National League.

I am probably going to give this player a break and maybe start upa new RTTS with a pitcher. I may pick him back up eventually but for now. I can rest easily after that awesome season I just had.

it's really difficult to maintain stats that are at 99, I feel that the older games handled that aspect better. Other then that, I'm having a blast playing RTTS.

I think that's why they changed it..it's not bad if you have one or two 99's all or most 99's, no. But that's not realistic anyway.
