Pre-Load will be available sometime this Wednesday, when Firmware 1.7 for the PS4 arrives. This update is adding Pre Loading ability (one of the many features its adding)

So you will have 6 days to load the game and have it ready for midnight unlock.

WOW there you go, this sort of makes disks really beocming a thing of the past. because now how easy is it to go home and play a game straight away without having to wait for it in the mail or going to the store line up etc..

Yep disks will be obsolete

I wouldn't say my net is that fast.. but with the PS3 download it was about 21 gig and it took about 4 and a half hours to download then about another 30 mins to install.. so if its 40 gig or 50 id be looking at about 10 hours max. but as you said won't matter now come May 6th.

This has really made me thing if I will ever get a game on disk again.

Sony is definitely doing a heck of a job with firmware 1.7

Has it been confirmed that with preload ability on the 30th that The Show will be able to be preloaded then or will Preloading happen closer to release?

Based on assumption. And since its so close to release I see no reason that the customers who have paid for the game on PSN, cant start their pre-load.

As soon as the update is applied I wouldn't be surprised if you can start downloading right then and there.

All that I can find is from Sony is... well not about the show. about the 1.7 update, that people will be able to pre load pre orders a few days earlier.. take the words 'few days earlier' what you want with that!

Its not safer per se, but it does use less power.

I don't care if it takes 2 days to download, because I have the ps3 version to play while it's downloading... the ps3 version took a good 4 hours that was 20 gig, so id say for me 40gig would take up to 10 hours with installing.

If I didn't have my PS3 anymore however boy I would hate waiting for it to download.

Oh wow. I guess I got lucky when I installed NBA 2K14 on PS4 because it was 40gb and only took about an hour.

Ive pre loaded plenty of big title releases on Steam 1 week before release. Like the new South Park game, for one

I'm hoping for pre-load, but to be honest it said select titles. I do not know what goes into preloading a game, but I assume there is some type of software lock that needs to be programmed into the title to prevent it from being played early.

Since the game was completed before the firmware, I'm curious if the feature is added.

Like I said, I have no idea about how it works, I'm just assuming it won't be in and be pleasantly surprised if it is.

i'd be willing to bet that PSN itself has the code that says certain games can't be played if they have a certain date. I dont think the games will haver that code in them.

oh only selected games?? ok that tells me that it might not be for the show then.. it's not like there are many games out on ps4 right now anyway, it might mean only blockbuster games like Watch Dogs
