I've been getting a lot of PMs about where around Chicago I got the game. Feel free to message me about that, but understand that I got EXTREMELY lucky. I doubt that I could have pulled that off twice. From what I've read, the guy took a huge risk, and probably doesn't have a job today.

I'd estimate that a good 98% of employees here would have told you to come back Tuesday. And to be honest, this game is not worth an all-day search, as it's not too terribly different from the PS3 version.

Everyone try your Walmart's. They might have it on the retail floor. You as consumer has a right to purchase something that is for sale to the public. They are irresponsible for putting the product out before the street date..

Hypthetial situation:
Suppose someone had pre-ordered the game a few weeks ago and paid in full using gift cards and trade ins.
Could this person walk into the same store, say an hour from now, and leave with their copy?
I mean, technically the store wouldn't be selling it before the release date, as it's already been paid for.

Yes it's been paid for, but I would have to assume they would need to scan it anyways. "Paid for" is still considered a deposit, until the actual exchange is made. Therefore, it would still technically be breaking street date.

well, after unsuccessful attempts on 3 separate days (including one with the game in hand) I have finally given up. Time to put my patience pants on and wait things out until 10am tuesday :/ at least I still get my free stubs!

You'll be okay, absolutely beautiful game but same game play, which is not a problem. I just played the dodger with the braves and lost and the lighting and uniforms are very nicely done. This game visually is on par with 2k in my opinion.
