Re: Ideas for an All-Cheaters Team
You lost all credibility when you put Michael Pineda in the middle of a bunch of steroid users. Seriously? All-Cheater team for using something most pitchers use at one point during the season and all players are ok with it... The only thing he did wrong was not hiding it well.
Based on your common sense. Jon Lester and Clay Buchholz should be in this list for the same reason as Pineda.
You also lost a ton of credibility when you put Manny and A-Rod on that list, but magically missed DAVID ORTIZ on that list...who by the way should be starting at DH.
Ortiz was in the 2003 list where A-Rod, Manny, and Sammy Sosa were...yes that also was the Year Ortiz magically became a star for the Red Sox.
Oh he was also supposed to get back at us with the details...but the coward hasn't said anything since then.Comment

Re: Ideas for an All-Cheaters Team
1. He was on an list for a banned substance...not specifically steroids.
2. He isn't even listed on the Wikipedia page for the Mitchell report.
3. Other than the arbitrary list that no one has seen, he hasn't been linked in any way to steroids, etc. to the extent all the other guys I've listed have.
4. I'm a Red Sox fan, and although I wouldn't be surprised if he used, I really don't think it's as "obvious" as people claim (namely Yankee fans who have had the most "cheaters" on their teams in the modern era. I'll have the debate with anyone and stack up the facts versus any of the circumstantial evidence that I've heard over the years. Bottom line is he hasn't been linked to anything since 2003 in the greatest era of testing while all these other guys have failed tests and outright admitted to using.
He's a cheater and you know it I'm still waiting on him to get back to us witch for some reason he hadn't gotten back to us. He's a cheater put him on your list.Comment

Re: Ideas for an All-Cheaters Team
Hahaha... At first I thought this was gonna be about all the cheaters/hackers/cheesers in online and what to do about them :-) (they (SDS) should lable them and have them placed in a cheaters lobby to play against themselves - the only way out is for a complete stat wipe, third time labled = permanent cheater hell)
But an all cheaters MLB team  you should create this and upload it to the roster vault____________________________________________

The list is not only PED users (Nettles, Belle, Perry, Rogers, etc) so I don't get your point there. Also, Buchholz and Lester were never thrown out of game for blatantly cheating; in fact, the MLB came out and said neither were doing anything wrong.
And, of course, rather than address my clearly stated points about Ortiz, you do the only thing you can and try to lump him in with Arod and Sosa, 2 guys who have tested positive multiple times, had a corked bat break in competition, and outright admitted to the world they were cheating. Clearly, that's the same as being on some arbitrary list testing positive for something more than a decade ago and then having not a whisper since.

Re: Ideas for an All-Cheaters Team
So since I have been waiting for the PS4 version to be released, I've had a lot of downtime to think about the way I am going to play The Show when I get it. After the whole Michael Pineda pine-tar scandal last night, it occurred to me it might be interesting to create an All-Cheater team in game. When I started to think about it, I found that I could field a pretty cool team that would be fun to play with. Actually, at some positions there is too much talent. Here is my team breakdown thus far:
Catcher:
Benito Santiago
Paul LoDuca
1st Base:
Mark McGwire
Jason Giambi
Rafael Palmeiro
2nd Base:
Brian Roberts
Chuck Knoblauch
Randy Velarde
3rd Base:
Alex Rodriguez
Ken Caminiti
Graig Nettles
Shortstop:
Miguel Tejada
Jhonny Peralta
Left Field:
Barry Bonds
Ryan Braun
Albert Belle
Center Field:
Lenny Dykstra
Brady Anderson
Melky Cabrera
Right Field:
Sammy Sosa
Gary Sheffield
Nelson Cruz
Designated Hitter:
Jose Canseco
Manny Ramirez
Starting Pitchers:
Roger Clemens
Andy Pettitte
Kenny Rogers
Gaylord Perry
Kevin Brown
Bartolo Colon
Endinson Volquez
Michael Pineda
Relievers:
Eric Gagne
John Rocker
Mike Stanton
Jason Grimsley
Guillermo Mota
Jay Howell
Brendan Donnelly
Manager:
Pete Rose
Starting Lineups and Pitching Rotation below...any suggestions?
1. CF Lenny Dykstra
2 2B Brian Roberts
3. LF Barrry Bonds
4. SS Alex Rodriguez
5. RF Sammy Sosa
6. 1B Mark McGwire
7. DH Jose Canseco
8. 3B Ken Caminiti
9. C Benito Santiago
lol…its a sad state of affairs that that Manny Ramirez and Palmerio didn't cheat enough to make this team.
Starting Rotation
Roger Clemens
Batolo Colon
Kevin Brown
Edison Volquez
Gaylord Perry
Closer
Eric Gagne
Setup men
Grimsley
Stanton
lol…interesting how the cheating clearly benefits hitters more….look at the MVP All-Stars and HOF candidates exist amongst the hitters. Compare that to the pitchers.Comment

Re: Ideas for an All-Cheaters Team
btw imo…roids were GREAT for baseball. God I loved watching Barry, Mc, and Sammy mash. I loved seeing Roger throw gas when he was like 50 years old. If they had it now….Jeter could take it and add a few more years of enjoyment for the fans.
I loved that Andy Pettite took it so he could recover and get back to his job. Baseball turned a blind eye when Mc and Sammy saved the game with roids.
It was only when Bonds became jealous and started taking it too. Then he became superman. God imagine if he took it during his early part of his career. He would have been in the 80-80 club. How fun would that have been to watch. Bonds was just obnoxious and made the game look soooo easy. He was close to doing that already before juice…with juice…OMG.
I miss the Steroid Era…I should make that a bumper sticker
Imagine if Ken Griffey Jr. or Frank Thomas juiced up. The home run record would be 100 in a season. Ken Griffey would have had 800 career homers.Comment
