I think u should be able to. If I'm not mistaken, last year the RTTS had option to play/watch full game or skip till your next turn. I'm sure player lock should have the similar options for RTTS.

Does Anyone else out there just Pitch, and never Hit ?
And how do you actually enjoy pitching? I've tried and it's no fun. I enjoy it as long as I hit and field as well (auto field but button throwing) but if all you do is pitching, I don't think i've ever gotten past 3 starts in RTTS. Only pitching I'd do is as a closer. But yeah definitely all 3 for me, with all classic controls, buttons, nothing too complicated.Comment

Re: Does Anyone else out there just Pitch, and never Hit ?
You can watch all your team AB's.....
You must use those settings in the RttS settings...as they will dictate your player lock settings.
....and if you change pitchers....go to the substitution screen and hit L2 to take control of the relief pitcher....it's not labeled anywhere and a rather obscure setting.
You think you've lost the lock on your pitcher...but you haven't.

I like to set it to CPU vs CPU, close my eyes and pretend I'm listening to the radio.

Some games I just pitch, some games I just hit, some games I do both.
But I never just watch. Or just manage, to be specific.T-BONE.

Re: Does Anyone else out there just Pitch, and never Hit ?
I became a full-time DH.
Greatest baseball season of my life. I felt like Edgar Martinez. All I did was rake.
Awesome.
The funniest thing is that I was never a pitcher (well I was for one season, but i was pretty awful. Actually hit the same guy twice in the same inning, if that tells you anything), but I enjoy pitching a lot in video games.Last edited by BA2929; 04-28-2014, 10:46 PM."Baseball is the coolest sport because, at any moment, the catcher can stop the game and go tell the pitcher a secret" - Rob FeeComment

I could have played all four years, but instead I have decided to fast-track to the married priesthood, in the old catholic line of ordination. As a ND Alum, you have seen the HORRORS of Vatican 2.
I am really a Sedevacantist, a minority of traditional catholic. Actually, I believe the Faith of The Apostles, Saints, and Martyrs.
Look into The Third Secret of Fatima.
I hope to be married, ordained, and serving a church in less than two years.
And I will always play MLB The Show !! Call it a public Cofession !!Last edited by HopiDesertPriest; 04-28-2014, 10:50 PM.Comment

My first love was fielding too and it stayed that way until I got tired of it by about high school. Then my biggest baseball dream came true in my SR year of college.

Coolio. Why hitting over fielding ?Comment

Re: Does Anyone else out there just Pitch, and never Hit ?
No idea. Just got tired of fielding after awhile. Probably helped I was pretty good at hitting and just average at fielding. Plus I didn't really have a position. I was mostly a SS/2nd baseman, but after I contracted Chuck Knoblauch disease and couldn't throw to first anymore, I moved to CF/LF. I was alright, but I never had the love to play the OF like I did when I was a SS/2B. Just standing out in the grass I didn't feel like I was "in" the game anymore.
Just hitting though, I felt like I could impact the game more with my bat. Plus I didn't have to run all the way out to the outfield each inning."Baseball is the coolest sport because, at any moment, the catcher can stop the game and go tell the pitcher a secret" - Rob FeeComment
