Re: MLB 14: The Show - Little Things Thread

I'm noticing some small RTTS additions... mind you, I didn't play RTTS in MLB 13, so forgive me if they are old. Many more updates thru commentary on milestones, previous history against a team, etc. Also some nice cutscenes when achieving milestones. When I got my first MLB hit, Albert Pujols (I'm on Angel) grabbed the ball when it was thrown in and held it up to me smiling and took it back to the dugout. Cool!
    HE'S GOT ONE FLAP DOWN!

The phillies LF broke(suspected break) his jaw when he miss timed a dive for a catch and it hit him in the face, he fielded the ball but threw a wild throw that missed second and was subbed out.
Wish the pitcher would sometimes get subbed after being hit in the leg, even if it was a 5% chance would be fine.

i think my favorite little thing would have to be how some of the stadiums have "real life" views of their respective cities pre game. for me it just adds a sense of broadcasting realism and i thought it was a great touch, just wish they did it for every stadium and not only a few. where ive seen it so far has been dodgers, and baltimore. im sure others do it as well. but im playing as the red sox and havent seen it yet, or at other stadiums such as texas.

I can't remember back to the November Community Week.....but they had us drawing some of the fan signs to possibly use.
I think the "Ya Gotta Believe" sign is one of ours!(maybe mine!)
I'm sure that I'll see one of theSlab's in there.....his were great.

Didn't read the whole thread, sorry if this had been mentioned before: I called up Gregory Polonco in my Pirates' franchise and placed him in the starting lineup. He was correctly seen as a rookie.

The first at bat he lines a ball into the gap for a stand up triple. Not only do the announcers mention that this was his first major league hit but they stop the game and the ball boy comes out and gets the ball for him. Really nice touch.

i was rounding to third and the outfielder threw the ball and it lost steam early and i ended up sliding on top of the ball and i had a shin contusion, then the cut scene came showing me being helped off the field

Bases loaded, one out..I was on 3rd. Ground ball to 2nd, throw to SS and to first, the 1B thought it was a double play (guy running to first was safe) so he tossed the ball into the dugout or stands, out of play. I score and one other guy..it was pretty funny.

That's a great little detail there. Most games wouldn't even think about that. Bravo SCEA.

Has anybody noticed that when you try to do a hit and run everytime the runners slide and you either get doubled up on a pop fly or you cant ever advance 1st to third. Also 1st and 2nd bases loaded guys are going ball goes throug and both guys slid at the base and didnt get the runs in.

I have no issues with hit and runs, my runners are advancing 1st to 3rd with no issues. What base running options are you using.

Last night in a Live game vs the White Sox as the A's, the cpu executed a perfect hit and run. Can't even remember who was the baserunner or the hitter, I was just thinking I had a great shot at throwing out the runner, but the hitter placed it perfectly through second base. I believe that is the first hit and run I've seen the cpu ever execute.

In my franchise, Matt just said, "Brandon Phillips steps up to the plate after getting a day off yesterday" Dont know if it has always been in the game but I thought this was cool.
