In real life they water the infield prior to the game and in the summer as the game progresses the dirt fades to a lighter color as the dirt dries out.

Someone mentioned TV settings up-thread, and I think they can make a noticeable difference. I try to avoid changing the individual settings for each game, but I will adjust color temperature for The Show. Usually I stick with cool, but to me, The Show looks better with normal or warm depending on time of day/ballpark/etc.

^ I use Warm 2 with my TV, but my TV is also calibrated. And let me also assure you that the game always looks better on my TV than on my laptop (which also runs "cool," so the screenshots I see are misleading).

But in general, there could be fixes. I've posted color corrections before using Photoshop, and while somebody could search and search until they find the perfect photo that represents what The Show offers, it's still just not exactly accurate. It's more than saturation, it's also temperature and hue. I don't know if these terms are actually appropriate for what the developers would need to work on to change it all, but grass, dirt, and wall colors could all very much be adjusted (oh, and twilight skies of course).

Russell's comments give me hope that future versions might have these changes.

The grass just has too much of a yellow hue in my opinion.

Just needs to be greener. FIFA has nice grass whilst having different shades for each stadium.

I like to set my television in "cinema" mode. It tends to display warmer colors as if watching TV.

No it doesn't. Look at the grass below again...is NOTHING like it.

Let me first start off by saying this. The work you do now and have done in the past for OSFM takes this game to the next level. The game wouldn't be the same without your contributions. I've been playing The Show since '07. Every single year I buy the game and I always wait to start my franchise until Knight and Co. roster's come out.

With that said, I want retractable roofs! I have for the past 5 or so years! Not ones that move, just an open and a closed. And I've heard Ramone's reasoning behind their absence from the game. Fine. I get it. And I know there was enough stuff to do this year to just release the game on PS4 sometime before the All-Star break. Which I say thank you guys! But you have to understand, for guys who play with teams that use the roof a lot, (i.e. the Astros) it's huge. Between the heat and the rain here in Houston, we probably play more games at MMP with it closed.

So please cut us retractable roof guys some slack. I want it in the game someday! Every year its in my top 3 wishlist! NO JOKE!
I'm not laughing at you guys who want retractable roofs....they'd be great.
I was laughing at the source of the "We" question.
Has no intention of playing the Show...and never will.
There is a term for his shenanigans on the internet....I can't remember what it is.

I use warm 2 and custom calibration also and it looks a little better, but that doesn't have any effect on screen or video captures. Minor quibble I know, but still important.

Since this was brought up years ago by whoever I do pay attention to the colors and dirt in stadiums I visit. It is one thing The Show doesn't seem to have any grasp on at all when it comes to realism. For those that don't attend parks in real life I guess it doesn't matter much. For those that attend real parks The Show looks like it has a drought going on lol. I expect 15 might have some improvements....

The images you posted are all night games and in real life the super intense lights are giving the grass a yellowish hue, which looks even more intense from a birds eye view. If you were closer, like in the batter's box, it would look darker than those wide shots.

For day games The Show is pretty spot on. To make night games "perfect" there would need to be some sort of algorithm that allows for the hue of the grass to change dynamically, in real time, based on the stadium lights and camera angle/distance. I know NOTHING about coding so I don't know if this is easy or impossible.
The Show is in no way whatsoever spot on for the majority of ballparks during the day or the night. I look forward to many improvements in this area in years to come.
