Re: Consistently Very Low Scoring Games

I think it all depends on the team you are using. Just last night I was playing a franchise game (I'm the Orioles) I had a 5 run 6th inning, and won the game 8-6. I think for that series I scored 6, 4 and 8 runs. Similarly when I was using the Padres in my test franchise I struggled to score runs. Didn't help that my #1 and 2 hitters both had BAs below .200 and OBP just north of .200.

If you are struggling to score runs try using a team with more Pop in the line-up.

I play on All-Star with default slider excpet for pitch speed which I lowered a notch to help me get around on fastballs better.

I am using the Rockies who should have plenty of pop. However I am not panicking. I believe the solution lies in tinkering with slider settings. But slider settings need to be tinkered with slowly. Baseball is a cooky game. One game one team will win 2-0 and on the following night the other team could win 12-7.

I totally agree with you on this. I am playing with the O.S.F.M rosters and did a fantasy draft. I drafted a lot of prospects and don't have any impact bats in the lineup. I am playing spring training right now and through six games I have scored eight runs (4 of them coming in one game). Now I think some of this has to do with all of the substitutions I make after the fifth inning right now but it's still really low. I am using TNK's sliders and am giving myself a large sample size before I make any conclusions. However, offensively I have been a bit unlucky as I have hit several balls right on the screws that were caught. For example, the last game I played I had the bases loaded with my catcher at the plate, I hit a hard ground ball up the middle that I thought was a sure single only for the shortstop to dive and turn a double play on me. My hits per game have been on the rise as I am getting used to the new system and I am drawing a solid amount of walks per game (about 3). My pitching has been rock solid but I expected that as this is where the strength of my team is.

Overall though, I feel like the tide could easily be flipped if I had drafted some impact players on offense and not so many pitchers.

Nothing special. Defualt All-Star with pitch speed at 3.

Having said that, I am going to start to fool with some sliders as after two weeks in my Orioles franchise I have a team BA of .210 and a BABIP of .220. I'm seeing to many diving catches in the outfield and a touch too many balls hit into the gap be run down. Will also lower pitcher accuracy as I don't think I am walking enough batters. Will be subtle changes to start a click on the defense -2 on pitcher accuracy.

One of my early exhibition games, The Cardinal at the Yankees, on the default experienced level went to extra innings with a score of 10-10. That followed a couple of lower scoring games. Of course the Yankee game probably would not have gone to extra innings if I was better at fielding.

I have set fielder run speed to 0 and they are still hardly enuff balls hitting over the outfielders heads and there still getting to balls to soon is main reason I think scoring is off a little ..

I'm playing on default HoF difficulty and through 5 games, I've scored 5, 3, 1, 5, and 4 runs. Seems ok to me.

I play on All-Star (hitting) and Hall of Fame (pitching) and after about 6 games I've yet to score more than 2 runs. I've been shutout 4 times. I think I just suck though. And it doesn't help that I play as the Cubs.
