It is way easier to hit offline in MLB 14 for the PS4. The online lag is crazy, you have to almost wait for the pitch to be in the mitt before swinging or you will be very early. In offline it is normal. So, it does make much more sense to smash in COTW than playing lag infested games. Now once, they fix the lag then it will be equal.

Re: The Official OS "Challenge of the Week" Competition
I don't play RTTS that much but I haven't noticed a timing difference when hitting in RTTS as opposed to hitting in Online head to head (Diamond Dynasty).
Not sure if it's still the case but when I played RTTS exclusively, I could play when I'm not connected to the network and it felt the same.
You need to be logged in (playstation network?) to play COTW, right?Comment

Re: The Official OS "Challenge of the Week" Competition
Yeah you have to be on PSN.
Well maybe some may find it harder to hit online, but I find it to be roughly the same. I guess I just adjusted and got used to it. I actually find it easier to hit online because people are very predictable and they lower the pitch speed.
I guess my point is I don't believe users can just come out of no where and post an insane score. I know...I'm a *****. Almost wish they took the prize away from COTW so it can just be for fun between straight up players.Comment

Re: The Official OS "Challenge of the Week" Competition
So because I've never played an online game that makes me a fraud that has somehow cheated the game to get the score I did? That's some real brilliant and elitist logic there buddy. My girlfriend sat there and watched me as I did it. Would you like her phone number so that you can interrogate her on what I did to break the game for a straight up player like yourself? Better yet send me your address and I'll ship you the prize if the score still stands. Anything to keep you from crying and making bitter accusations with no basis. Or you know...you could try to beat the score yourself. Shouldn't be too hard for an elite online player such as yourself. life/sports are filled with examples of people who come from "nowhere " and surprise doesn't mean they cheated to do those things.
Plus I know there are glitches and people willing to exploit them for prizes. I faced Ubaldo Jimenez a few times instead of Tanaka and another user said he got straight fastballs during one session.Last edited by cardinalbird5; 07-11-2014, 08:03 PM.Comment

Re: The Official OS "Challenge of the Week" Competition
This week I got around 3 million. It wasn't too bad but I kinda lost focus. If you sit on slider and adjust from there you should be fine.Comment

Here are the standings as we cruise into the All Star Break!
This week's challenge is a Chi-Town affair: Chris Sale vs. Anthony Rizzo!

Re: The Official OS "Challenge of the Week" Competition
• Challenge of the Week pitcher settings no longer carrying over from any other game mode.
Does anyone know what this meant in the patch notes?
Maybe sliders or something were affecting the COTW pitcher? This is my guess on how some guy like 300+ million.Comment

Either way, I doubt it was intentional. He might have known something was up, but didn't know why.Last edited by bcruise; 07-19-2014, 02:39 AM.Comment

Yeah I have no idea. I was just wondering what that even meant....SCEA doesn't tell us much and likes to keep things behind the curtains.Comment
