The ps3 version is easier for hitting. I had bought the ps3 version first day and was able to get at least 1 million each week and then I bought a ps4 and the first thing I noticed is hitting is harder on ps4 as well as pitching...I am late on fastballs on veteran. I was playing on legend on ps3 and now I am playing hof on ps4. I have no problems with the heightened challenge except I had read somewhere that ps4 and ps3 players are all lumped together. I am speaking from experience the ps3 version is easier.

Wait...I'm confused...this is the leaderboard just for PS4 right? I'm on PS3 and swear I have seen the same names and totals on my leaderboard.Comment

I'm not sure if it combines PS3 and PS4 scores or not. It really doesn't matter too much either way, other than PS3 folks being able to join in on the fun.Ryan Spencer

Man he can be tough to hit, especially when Cespedes gets to Hall of Fame. The splitter always seems to get me.Comment

Re: The Official OS "Challenge of the Week" Competition
My strategy was to use the "normal swing" for Rookie, Veteran, and All-Star difficulties.
Then I just kept using the "contact swing" the rest of the way.
The key is to build up a nice point total in the early difficulties, then just focus on getting your multiplier up in the later difficulties.Comment

Personally I'm capable of using Power at least on Rookie and sometimes Vet - as long as I can hit some homers without missing it puts me in good shape for later. Then normal on All-Star and Contact above that. And I'll swing contact when down to my last strike no matter the difficulty level. I tend lose my streaks around HOF and Legend, and usually Legend chases are the most common cause.
Edit: Just posted 750k. Can probably do better, I got up to Legend but chased one over my head.Last edited by bcruise; 06-19-2014, 07:19 PM.Comment

Re: The Official OS "Challenge of the Week" Competition
Ok it appears no one has read what I just posted (I am SaskatcheWHAT I tried making a new account to go along with my psn) anyways. PS4 and Ps3 are together and it does matter because the ps4 version is a lot more challenging. Trust me I played both and I should be ablevto crack the top 100 or at least get 500,000( at least) but the ps4 version is harder.Comment

Re: The Official OS "Challenge of the Week" Competition
I am sorry but something is definitely up with the top few scores every week.
100+ million? There is no way unless they know something I don't! You can't really center swing past AS and I know people can't get on 200+ streaks without missing 1 pitch from Koji. Buerhle I could see it...but not this challenge.
Then I look at their online record, thinking they have to be unbeatable and nope. They have solid records, but if they are getting 100+ million on these challenges something is up or they are the best players ever. I have only faced 1 player that could constantly put the PCI perfect on the ball and be able to lay off pitches. He still wasn't perfect either, but I know he would win COTW a lot with legit scores (TIPTOP).
Tell me...how do you go 17-8 online with a .200 BA, yet can post 64 million in COTW? Lol I don't buy it. Something is up. Didn't someone say that the COTW glitched out and only threw fastballs down the middle? Those scores honestly shouldn't count!Comment

Now some guys might just have success off of Uehara. I know it's possible to be better against certain guys for no real reason. I myself got a 14 streak before succumbing to a splitter, but anything outside of maybe a couple million is fishy.Comment

Yeah some are really impossible. That must be what happened in those cases. Stinks if there is a prize on the line too.

That splitter is bound to get you at least once...Comment

I never ever use the Power swing... I go normal swing for rookie then contact the rest of the way. I try to build up my momentum by working the counts and getting line drives. I posted 1.3 on this challenge, but I can't seem to beat that. I'll try one more time tonight... lol.NCAA Vets League: Arkansas Razorbacks (9-2, 6-1)

Re: The Official OS "Challenge of the Week" Competition
I can't see how anyone could get to 100 million on this week's challenge without the aid of some sort of glitch, intentional or unintentional.
The batting cursor gets so small by the time you reach legend difficulty that you're bound to strike out eventually.Comment
