    Re: Unnecessary beards

Ya....the beards are overboard. Matt Holliday is maybe the worst player model in the game. He is clean shaven for 99% of the year and has a grizzly adams beard. The devs apparently thought Kevin Siegrist and Jason Werth were twins. And Michael Wacha....is that even him? lol. Just minor complaints of mine...the game itself is visually stunning. But being a die-hard Cards fan, i thought the Cards roster as a whole was pretty bad with the exception of Molina, Adams, Jay, Rosy, and Motte who are spot on. Some of the lesser know guys are understandable...but Holliday? Woof...

No I dont think so either. Not to mention his hair is not jet black like it is in the game.

He usually has either a scruffy beard or usually the chin goatee. This is the first thing I noticed, so many guys have beards that usually dont. I wish they could let us disable the beard and just go clean shaven if we want. Wont happen but I am pretty sure I read that they do the cyberface, then add the beard so they probably have 2 versions of their face when making the game.

On the flip side, guys with huge beards in real life(Brian Wilson, Mike Napoli) look incredible in game. Its crazy how they absolutely nailed some guys( R.A. Dickey looks amazing) and messed up others.
Ah well not a huge deal I guess.

When I looked at the Cardinals and saw Wacha rated B potential, I was stunned. Then I looked at Shelby Miller and saw he's A potential, and then I was both stunned and confused.

On the topic of beards. Robinson Cano does NOT have a beard in this game. One of the most talked about things with Cano since leaving the Yankees is how he now can grow a beard. Jeter joked with him pretty hard about his beard when Robbie came to NY to play the Yankees. Yet in the game he's cleanly shaven.

What would be cool is if they got two face scans for guys who had beards in the off-season. Find out when they're going to get their beards shaved, and then send along a team with the right equipment to gets scans before and after, that way it'll look realistic mid-season when it's hot as a jungle, and playoffs when it's colder than a witch's boomstick

(I just realized that says boomstick. And that's the way it will remain.)

The irony is that two players on the Dodgers that have crazy beards (Scott Van Slyke and Justin Turner) are clean shaven in the game. As is Chris Perez. I wonder if some of the beards that went to other players just did not make it to these players.

Yeah I think cause of the new model, they want to show off the new beard technology but yeah they went too far. Rasmus is bugging me big time. Too dark and full. As does Adam Jones. i've never seen him sporting one, or even any pictures. He does have the goatee. Game looks great just the overboard on beards are disappointing. Heck most of the Red Sox are now clean cut or trimmed except for Gomes.

A lot of the facial scans were done in Spring training of last year(2013) as well as throughout the season(2013). That is the reason a lot of players have beards due to the timing in which they were scanned. Some had them at the time of their scans and others did not.

EXAMPLE: look at Robinson Cano he's clean shaved in the game yet has a beard in real life. His facial scan is from ST 2013 when he was still in NY.
