I am thinking that how I draft will also be determined by how I want to play my franchise. If I am simming a lot then I just want to draft the overall best players for each position. If I plan on playing the games out then I might take a lesser player if they have better contact ratings, because that directly affects my ability to get hits.
Who is your first pick in a fantasy draft?

I go Mike Trout and I dont think its even close.
Young, fast, hits for power and average and plays solid defense. Depending on how the draft was going, I might not even consider drafting a starter until the 3rd or maybe even 4th round.Last edited by BA2929; 05-13-2014, 01:58 PM."Baseball is the coolest sport because, at any moment, the catcher can stop the game and go tell the pitcher a secret" - Rob FeeComment

Re: WHO IS YOUR FIRST PICK IN A FANTASY DRAFT.
Unlike everyone else I love to have a strong starting rotation in The Show. I normally go SP, best hitter available, SP, SP. There is such an advantage to every game if you have the better pitcher. I understand the philosophy of trying to outscore everyone, but I like going into a game knowing my pitcher will go 7+ innings and give up <2 runsThe Washington Redskins
The Washington Nationals
The Washington WizardsComment

1st: SS (Simmons or Segura)
2nd: C (Rosario or Perez)
3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th: All SP's like Gerrit Cole, Matt Cain, Michael Wacha, and Shelby Miller ....or something along those lines
Then get some cheap contact hitters. I dunno ..maybe 4 SP's back to back is a bit much and I could get 3.
Will see how my draft is tonight.Comment

Yea I hear ya but I also want some decent defense, maybe one good 3rd or 4th hitter, then go SP for 4 straight picks. Maybe something like:
1st: SS (Simmons or Segura)
2nd: C (Rosario or Perez)
3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th: All SP's like Gerrit Cole, Matt Cain, Michael Wacha, and Shelby Miller ....or something along those lines

1st seems a little early for Simmons, way too early for Segura. and 2nd seems early for both Rosario and Perez. I was able to get Giancarlo Stanton late 2nd round the last time I did a fantasy draft, I think Rosario should be there a little later haha.Comment

Definitely Mike Trout, pitchers can wait, as there are at least 30 aces that I could draft, and there's only one Mike Trout.

Personally? Trout, but for the sake of being different, how about Giancarlo Stanton. Power for days.Comment
