That's incredible! Good job man! Did you have to change any sliders to do this and which Difficulty level are you on?

I dropped the pitch speed a click and just had an 11 hit game! Though I agree on being weary of how it will impact the user's perception of the offspeed stuff.

I use armor and sword's timmed sim sliders.

I use the Orioles and if you use timmed hitting the team and players make a huge difference. I picked up Cuddyer in the offseason so my lineup is pretty damn good. Not sure how I would do with another team.

Increase the contact and timing sliders as you increase in difficulty level. On default the PCI is just nowhere near the ball enough even on good swings, but that's the consequence of playing at higher difficulty.

I actually think the placement is much better this year - in year's past it seemed almost random but now (for me at least) it seems much more dependent on user timing (so if you swing early on a slider the PCI will be placed like you were swinging at a fastball). I've only had to bump up contact and timing +1 on Legend and I like how it feels, last year I had both at +2/+3.

I keep just trying to buy into the fantasy mind set and remind myself that in my own personal baseball world, The Yankees are struggling and no one has really broken out (average-wise).

And that's probably true any way seeing as MOST of my hitters are in-line with their real world trends anyway.

Gardner and Ellsbury are now both above .270. Roberts has fallen to .269 and Beltran (the one that bothers me the most) is now in the high .250's...ugh. LOL!

There's a lot of baseball left though and I'll continue to pluck away. One true hot streak to counteract that cold streak I just had and all will be well. I had one earlier in the season so I think I'm due!

Yeah the game does an excellent job of having slumps and streaks.

Cuddyer got off to a fast start batting ~.330 but has now dipped to .266. Yet he is now hitting for power with 11 HR and 31 RBI in mid may so go figure. (season numbers, not 11 HR in May alone)

Markakis was hovering around .296 but a recent slump has dropped him to .272

Chris Davis is on a rampage in May. On the year he has .301 12 HR 29 RBI but 7 HR in May and is hitting like .356 so far this month.

Weiters has seen his average climb from .235 to .264

Machado has been my most consistent hitter as his average has been around .295 most of the season.

Another thing I benefited from is LHP. My team is great against lefties and I have played against quite a few lefties early.
The bottom of the order has been inconsistent, but that is in part due to the injury to Adam Jones and the resulting lineup shuffling and I have quite a few rookies and young guys who I am still trying to sort out.
Though I am hitting well, I am in the bottom half in RBI. My average with RISP is dreadful. Hopefully when Adam comes back that will improve.

Why is Beltran struggling so much? Bad luck with well hit balls going to defenders or something else? In my franchise Manny missed a week (he currently bats 5th) and Davis did not get anything to hit during that time. It could be my imagination but the AI seemed to pitch around Davis knowing that Weiters is not much of a threat. Who hits behind Beltran?

NOTE: I've struck out 78 times already with Soriano! I just saw that! OMG! That's 30 more than my second worst player. Wow. That has to mean something. What it is I'm sure I'll figure out! LOL!

EDIT/NOTE 2: My splits tell a story! I should have looked at them sooner. Jeter and Soriano are smacking around righties but are hitting low .200's against lefties! The guys they should mash (Jeter and Soriano have excellent ratings against LHP's).

Ellsbury and Johnson hit lefties real well! .275 and .262 respectively.

Roberts hits .325 against lefties, and Teixera sits at .329.

Nah I actually thought you may have been using it more. Thought it could explain the good HR numbers but not so good average.

Typically the response would be that it is just bad luck and keep at, but you are in mid June and that is usually when guys "stabilize" at an average.

Have you raised human power? If so I would suggest lowering it back.

At any rate, your team numbers are not atrocious or anything like that. I'd be less concerned with Beltran than your 4,5,6 hitters.

Yeah, I know it's funny to be stressing on Beltran and still be content with my horrid middle three! LOL! I was really astonished to see Soriano's SO total. 30 more than my second worst player is atrocious. I need to cut that down.

NYY seems to always hit a ton of HR's in this game so I'm cool with that. I'm actually 3rd in the league in that department.

My stats are very inline with a lot of real MLB teams. I guess my only concern is not having at least one or two higher BA players. That's really my only complaint.

I was really struggling on timing as well, but I've turned it around by pretty much completely adjusting my game and doing things I never really had to do before.

First things first, I got rid of the strike zone. It helps with your patience at the plate, and you'll absolutely know when you get a pitch that's hittable. Then I went and grabbed some sliders from here, I prefer TNK's. Now after all of that I made some adjustments at the plate.

My entire strategy at the plate is to work the count and make the pitcher throw me something that I can hit. I, like everybody else, loves a good fastball right in the zone and the best way to get that is to get the count to 3-1 or 2-1 and really putting pressure on the pitcher. I'll usually take every single pitch until he throws me a strike, no matter where it is. Once I have a strike that's where I start looking for my pitch. If he gives me a fastball anywhere up in the zone, I'm swinging at it, if it's anything off-speed and down I just let it go. You won't be able to do anything with a breaking ball low in the zone obviously. Once you're at two strikes, it's all about protecting the plate until you get what you want. You have to swing at anything close to the zone and expand the strike zone a little bit. If you battle for long enough and maybe get the count back up to 3-2, you'll get your pitch.

The name of the game at the plate this year is patience. I fell like in prior years you could just kinda go up there see, see an alright pitch, and tee off. This year it feels a lot more calculated, but maybe that's just me.

Im on Timing (as ever) and as you can tell from my team batting average in my signature, have made somewhat of a slow start lol, but i know ill turn it around, its only my pitching keeping me at .500 as a team.

Im going to use a little bit of that advice Equinox, and even though i am walking around 3 times a game, have even more patience, i know myself im swinging too much too early in the count, so thats something i need to rectify...having said that on occasion if you always take early the CPU will figure that out and throw loads of first pitch strikes so then its always advisable to swing at a first pitch now and again to keep them off that too much.

Again, sound debate and good advice.

One thing I did do was shut off any form of guess pitch and it has helped immensely. I guess the penalty when you guess wrong was effecting me more than I thought. Getting much more realistic numbers now.
