For a game that has so many details, where are the shake-offs?

I absolutely love this game in so many ways and am totally addicted to it. One of my favorite things about it is how it captures so many of the little nuances of the game and play behaviors in the animations etc.

Its a very minor quibble for sure, but it seems strange to me that the pitcher never shakes off (nods no) a call from the catcher. Seems like such a simple animation that would add another fine detail to the game. Also when playing RTTS and standing on second I would think I would see the catcher giving signs.

Maybe they will add this in one year.

The pitcher does shake off signs. CPU does it all the time. For yourself, if you select a pitch other than what the API calls for, your pitcher will quickly shake.

But for a game that does boast so many details, where are the disguised catcher signs. They still have them in demo's but not in the game

Really?? Disguised signs in demo's? Do you have a link so I could see?

That's something I wish was included, as the good old 1-5 finger sign and the tap on the inside of the leg is getting old.

I don't think there has been a demo in about 3 years.

I assumed he meant demo videos. I also assumed he meant it was a change supposed to be in MLB 14.

I would love to see some changes to the catcher for future versions. Some different animations/catching styles for one.

The catcher animations really need some re-working. It gets tiring of seeing the catcher bounce out of his crouch and field a ground ball in front of the plate before the batter gets out of the box.

Or the catcher try to block a pitch in the dirt, only for it to get away and him not move for a second before running and sliding to retrieve it.

Yeah, there's also no difference between individual catchers. Other than the colour of their gear, they mostly look the exact same. They all wiggle around the same between pitches, they all show the target the same....

I would love to see individual catcher models to add some variety.

On the flip-side, it's absolutely awesome that CPU pitcher's heads animate to check the runners now.

Cool. I haven't noticed it at all, and I've been looking for it. I exclusively play RTTS. I haven't seen a pitch nob once. Should I look harder, or maybe its not in RTTS game mode?

The CPU will shake off signs rarely but it is not realistic because they throw the pitch immediately after that and it confuses me at the plate. This game has never keyed on smoothing the pitcher and catcher relationship out, I guess that goes against them needing to keep the game pacy.. which is a concept that I'm not fond of.

He meant demo mode games, or any cpu vs. cpu game, really. I've brought this up at the CD event, and there is actually a story behind the complex signs. I think we will be seeing some changes to this mechanic in the near future.

I would like to be able to shake off signs with the API off as well.

I see your point, from a visual perspective, but technically if you have the API turned to OFF then your catcher isn't calling the game.

I know it still looks like it (and I doubt they'll ever change it), because the catcher always puts down a sign no matter what, but with the API off it's just visual.

It should be in RTTS, but if you wanna see it up close maybe look in a replay?
