Re: Why are some pitches missed by the catcher. Pitches that are strikes

I play everything on default (which is how the game should operate properly on). I've played over 150 RTTS games and over 50 Franchise games.

The ball through the catcher problem is included in both modes. As an RTTS catcher, I've had to go back to the backstop to pick up a ball that went through my chest -- so I know it has nothing to do with the angle I'm viewing from.

I've also thrown one through the catcher with my CP RTTS player as well. Directly through the middle of his chest.

I understand there are wild pitches and passed balls and when they happen, they make sense and it's easy to see why they happen, but these problems have nothing to do with those.

I use wide cam for hitting and outfield cam for pitching.

Re: Why are some pitches missed by the catcher. Pitches that are strikes

I've only seen a pitch go completely through my catcher once, but I've seen several missed pitches that bounce away. It's a bit frustrating only because it looks ridiculous and more often happens when I hit my spot rather than missing across the plate or something. But I'd rather have it in there than not.

I've seen it happen one time and it was in the ninth with runners on 1st and 2nd. Luckily I worked out of it for the win. Ryan Hanigan isn't gonna get hit in the face with a ball down the middle... plain and simple.

That's a bit overly dramatic. The game has a few issues with this the ball flying through the catcher being one of them, but a ****ton of problems is being way over the top dramatic. So stop it.

              Really?

              1. Ball through the catcher.
              2. AI Manager pulls SP out of the game at ridiculous times with low *** pitch counts.
              3. Double-play opportunities are often performed at the slowest urgency possible.
              4. Outfielders field balls without any urgency on tag ups or throws to home often.
              5. 2B and SS fail to pre-load throws on double-players a lot.
              6. The baseball can clip through the OF wall resulting in a HR because of poor collision detection.
              7. The black out games.
              8. The outfield lighting conditions.
              9. The lobs from the SS or 2B to the SS or 2B on plays at second.
              10. Homeruns called back after review sometimes don't erase the runs scored on the HR from the scoreboard, lol.
              11. Trade Logic is damaged goods.
              12. Contracts are completely out of whack.
              13. Schedule after 2015 is messed up.
              14. Players still sign ridiculous contracts.
              15. RP are way overvalued again.
              16. Pitch counts can reach up to 130+ even with no energy at all left.
              17. Energy doesn't refill properly on off days sometimes.
              18. Online play is a complete joke.

Let me know how many more problems you need for it to be considered a ****ton. I'll gladly include some more.

You're contradicting yourself pretty bad here. How are pitchers being taken out too early, yet still throwing 130+ pitches with no energy? You also listed things that are related to each other (contracts and trade logic).

Either way, if you don't like the game, no one is forcing you to play it. I haven't experienced over half of these.

                  1. Confirmed problem.
                  2. I've only seen this a few times, but once I lowered hook one notch it was fine and realistic.
                  3. I haven't seen this. I've seen some quality SS and 2B perform in the air throws with urgency to get DP's.
                  4. What do the OF's have to do? Throw their arms out of the sockets? I've seen OF's throw hard enough where they have to tumble forward to get runners out at home.
                  5. Pre-load meaning what?
                  6. I've hit a lot of HR's and I've never seen this.
                  7. Black out games? Explain? I've had a few blue screen crashes but no "black outs".
                  8. I haven't seen problems with outfield lighting conditions. Lighting has been great.
                  9. You mean just like in real life?
                  10. Haven't seen this either.
                  11. Trade logic has a few quirks but every game, every year has bad trade logic.
                  12. Contracts need work.
                  13. Schedule needs fixed.
                  14. Give an example.
                  15. They need to be somewhat overvalued but RP is what wins ball games, atleast in this game. SP doesn't to be honest. I'm onboard with RP being valued high.
                  16. Again, lower the hook slider and fixed. That's why it's there.
                  17. I've seen this issue also.
                  18. Offline franchise or RTTS for me. Haven't experienced online so can't comment.

P.S. I hope you bugged all this on shownation. Please tell me you have.

Contracts and trade logic are not related to one another, lol. Trout starting at 5-6 years at 2.5 million per year isn't the same as being able to trade Neftali Feliz and Luke Jackson for Giancarlo Stanton.

I honestly don't care if you've experienced one or not. Enough people on here have posted about each one of these in one place or another on this forum for me to know it's not just me.

As far as posting it on ShowNation, lol -- no. I'm not going to waste my time. Some of this **** has been a problem for 5+ years now.

I worded it poorly on the Contracts/Trade Logic. You posted two things that are issues with the trade logic, then two things that are issues with contracts. They're the same issue that you decided to post two examples of (i.e. Contracts are completely out of whack/Players sign ridiculous contracts).

My point remains though.. if you think the game is so bad, why would you play it?
