    Re: Do You Celebrate?

Whenever I hit a homer in a close game I do one of two things: Celebrate like Manny Ramirez would with both hands and arms up...or if there's some doubt about it, I'll channel Hawk Harrelson by saying, "Get on back there. Stretch! Stretch!"

If i get a big strikeout it's a simple fist pump and on to the next half inning. However, if i'm on the end of a bad call I let my tv, my dog, and my neighbors know that it's a bad call.. haha. If it's a bang bang play I usually signal the safe or out call emphatically with the umpire.

This made me realize that I tell nearly every batter that I strike out to "Get the **** outta' here!"

I also flip the bird when I feel my outfielders aren't hustling to get to the ball.

        Re: Do You Celebrate?

I hit a walk-off HR against Detroit and celebrated by pumping both arms in the air. My wife said I was cheating since the Tigers are her favorite team so now every HR now, I throw up one or both arms and make sure to point it out to her. The last instance of this roundly got me cussed out as I hit a 2-run HR in the 10th to give my team (DBacks, both my favorite and team using in RTTS) a 6-4 win in the game and the World Series. Told her my other HR that game (she walked out in the 9th) broke up Verlander's perfect game in the 7th.

As far as other celebrations go, I'm more muted in my responses as I'll occasionally flip off the ump who decides my checked swing broke the plane of the plate (even though replay shows I clearly didn't) or when my 6+ ERA relievers come in and quickly evaporate a 4+ run lead in the latter stages of the game. And Juan Uribe got that treatment as he pulled an "EA Super LB" move and robbed me of a potential 2-run double. Checked the replay and sure enough, his feet were just above the level of his belt when he started the jump.

Well seeing some of your guys' reactions gives me a major sigh of relief that I am not the only one.

Was worried about myself being this immersed into a video game.

            Re: Do You Celebrate?

Just recently i made myself a deal/promise, that if was to go and win 10 games in r row on rookie that i would make the jump to DD. well have gotten half way or so a couple times this early season. i just started using ILFT's slider set early on in my current run. So i have had a lot of close low scoring games.

During this run i have swept San Francisco, Philly and Milwaukee. now in the Milwaukee series i had a moment or two that was jump out of my chair and yell at the tv. Good things of course... like a go ahead three run home run that put me ahead late to help me win and keep streak alive.

but the biggest one was a walk off double by Jarrod Saltalamacchia to win the game in the bottom of the ninth inning by a score of 1-0!!!

Sure there are times i curse this game uncontrollably when im suffering through bad times but when you get those little pockets of joy like that, it is like all the bad goes away and your on top of the world for just a smalll second.

god i love this game at times...

I don't celebrate much. But when I do Mound Visits I seem to pace back and forth in my room while it goes on.

A key strikeout and ill go into Leslie Neilson mode (you know what I mean )

Even a homerun and im pretending to do the high five, face wipe moves that go with it.

I think its good to be sucked into a game that much, that you actually replicate stuff because it feels good too

                  Maybe its just me

Every time a get a DP ball to my fielders in a tight spot, I'm like "turn it, turn it!" and when they do, especially to end an inning, I'm like "yes, good job!" especially late in the game and the reliever on the verge of losing it and he rolls up a double play.

Of course, the facepalm comes out when my hitter pops a hittable pitch up or a key hitter (like Papi or Giancarlo Stanton) hits into that same double play.

Especially if it's a ground ball on a high pitch. I'm like "how did you hit that on the ground?! It was UP and you STILL hit it on the ground!" One game my guys, literally, made 18 ground ball outs. They made 19 outs on balls in play, 18 on the ground. I was like "Really? REALLY?!" After about the 10th one. The Rays pulled that once last year - except flyballs. 17 flyball outs - 19 total flyballs. So 2-for-17 on flyballs. "Can I get a liner just once, please?"

Oh the joys of timing hitting! But that's baseball!

I don't have Nate Jones (yet), but in last year's game - I would almost always throw his 102 MPH fastball and go "woo! not catching up that one!" when I get a high hard one by the guy. Or, if I feel especially evil - throw a change up after the CPU hitter fights off like 4 or 5 of the heaters and go "bang!" for strike three while the guy looks dumbfounded at the plate.

Not only do I celebrate big hits, no doubt HR's, inning ending double plays, and awesome strike outs, but when things go the other way...the filth that comes out of my mouth is Epic.

I'm down 5-0, David Price pitching a 4 hit, 122 Pitch shutout. 2 outs bottom of the 9th, Soriano goes for broke. HR. You would've thought I won the World Series, and all I did was stop the shutout.

" You're ****ing out" after every strike out. This game is simply amazing at bringing out the emotional highs and lows. I catch myself at work thinking about my next series or who's playing like garbage.

i do various things. when i get a out pitching i yell out got heeem or wham when i throw a scorcher to the catcher. when i hit it in the gap i yell get in there which is kinda my catchphrase. when i hit a homer i flip my controller and twirl my finger like the umps do and if its a deep one i say titanic blast like berman said during one of the hr derbys

Im doing a TBTC Postseason right now and my 98 Yanks are playing the 90 A's in the ALDS and in Game 2 I was down 3-1 in the bottom if the 9th and I got a 1 out single then hit a 2R HR with Brosius and I lost my mind, 11pm on a work night and I woke up my wife and 3 kids. Yes I celebrate.

Roster set is the 90-10 set from BieBig2010 which is amazing
