Re: MLB 15 Road To The Show Wishlist

Seeing as the RTTS wishlist I will give some things I want JUST in that mode are
    • Make it harder to steal bases. I find it way too easy to steal from first with RHPs are on the mound.
    • Give less points for achieving great at bats. Like a great at bat should be around 15 or so points. In most of my games as my SP I average around 400-600 points per game. It just makes your player too dominant by the start of like your 3rd season and how many batters can put up a 300 average with 40 homers and 100 rbi's and steal like 40 or 50 bags in their 3rd season and rookie year.
    • Give us the option to be like a real reliever, like a set up guy, long reliever, middle reliever, lefty specialist, etc.

    Just some suggestions

Re: MLB 15 Road To The Show Wishlist

I only want one thing this year. In Toronto, Seattle, Milwaukee, Arizona, and Houston the option to play with a closed roof. Doesn't have to move during the game. Just an option to chose before the game. If it's not in I ain't buying.

Would like to see an update for Managers when necessary. If a Manger gets fired, would like to see an update which would include his replacement. Would like to see the same with base Coaches if they get replaced.

I'd like to be able to crowd the plate if I wanted.
          Stay in the Minors longer
Hitting coach / Base running coach interactions through out the week.
The Manager should give me instructions on what he wants me to do (based on situation)

Also just a minor graphics suggestion not really RTTS related. The batters box chalk never gets messed up it looks weird after 9 innings to see it still perfect.

HELP COMMUNITY! I know we would all love this. What if when your road to the show game was over you didn't have to go back to the main menu and you could just click play next appearance instead of clicking exit game then going to the main menu then clicking play next appearance? That would be a huge add on to the game. If people play like me which is trying to play as many road to the show games as possible in one sitting this would be an amazing yet simple bonus to this wonderful game.

Re: MLB 15 Road To The Show Wishlist

              1. I believe the equipment needs to be touched up mainly the cleats. When are brand name companies's products like Nike, Mizuno, Under Armour, Oakley going to have their equipment added into the game?

              2. Some kind of storyline added into RTTS would be a great addition. Interviews, pre-game and post-game cut scenes just like 2K's infamous MyCareer mode. As long as it does not take away from the amazing gameplay that is.

              3. Will we ever have the ability to load a roster after starting a Franchise or RTTS? Meaning I would not have to re-start just because I want to use the most up to date roster.

              4. A first person camera option should be given to us.

              5. Also, how about giving us the ability to control one player in game instead of controlling the entire team? Kind of an RTTS capability but that would work for Exhibition games Franchise etc. This would allow people to control their favorite player and play a season/game with only control of them when playing.

              6. Face scan for RTTS is a must.

              7. Single-A teams I believe need to be added by now. I have been waiting for years for this to happen.

              8. The trade logic needs to be worked on. SERIOUSLY. THE GM'S LOGIC (TRADES, ROSTER MOVES) HAS BEEN HORRIBLE FOR TOO LONG.

              9. FOX or MLB Network broadcast overlays would be lovely.

              To be continued..

When are brand name companies's products like Nike, Mizuno, Under Armour, Oakley going to have their equipment added into the game? Mostly due to costs and liscensing this are hard to do, but i would like to see these as well, and even like NBA2k, Get endorsements from them.

As long as it does not take away from the amazing gameplay that is. Agreed with this as well. As well as a way to spend your salary, buy a car, house, clothing, equipment

                  3. Will we ever have the ability to load a roster after starting a Franchise or RTTS? Meaning I would not have to re-start just because I want to use the most up to date roster. I would like to see real time trades, like lets say the Mariners trade Smoak to the Blue Jays for Encarniacion it would happen in game as well.

                  4. A first person camera option should be given to us. Agreed as well

Kinda of already have this. In league mode you can select a player to use. Cant remember what the its called, but i have used it.

                  6. Face scan for RTTS is a must. Not needed, but would be cool

                  7. Single-A teams I believe need to be added by now. I have been waiting for years for this to happen. Absolutly

This will be long but everything I am listing is feasible as most relate to fixing mechanics in the game rather than adding new functions.

                    1. Create a franchise w/ custom stadium (Not Diamond Dynasty). Some people might say that this is not possible due to scheduling issues with an odd number of teams. There are 2 solutions. You can either 'replace' a team of your choosing or create 2 teams (1 NL, 1 AL) and have the game re-balance the scheduling to accommodate the 2 new teams.

                    2. New animation system (and or more animations + adding 'animation priority'). I'm not asking for simulation based engine like Euphoria by Natural Motion or anything (though it would be nice!), but the animation system currently in use can be downright frustrating. Players often show a lack of 'urgency' on grounders by hitters like Billy Hamilton. C'mon, nobody lollygags on a grounder by him! Heck, I would accept at least an error if they rushed it too much. At least it's more realistic! Also, I don't want to always see the predictable 'double pump' animation that is premeditated (among many others). That's the real issue. So much of the game is scripted when it comes to fielding animations. This would be the hardest addition to the series (if going with the simulation/hybrid Madden style system) but it's desperately needed for also adding realism.

                    3. More pitch discrepancy/dynamics and stats. You don't need a simulation program for this either (though it would be nice) but it'd be nice to have more modifiers that also dictate a pitchers 'consistency' in how their pitches break. We all know a pitcher who can throw a great slider but only after throwing like 8 bad ones or vice versa. Even so, the pitch trajectory should not be so linear as it is in the game. To make it simple, I'm really just asking for 2 new modifiers. For every pitch you can have Pitch Depth & you can have Break Consistency (how often the pitcher will throw a sharp/good pitch vs. a floater/meatball).

                    4. Player traits. Very simple. I know the game tries to circumvent this with just using the stats to 'replicate' the traits certain players have but we all know this isn't very realistic. Take a page out of Pro Yakyu Spirits book.

                    5. Reward the player more for doing good or punish them more for being bad. Before I continue, I will say that of course Baseball in real life does NOT work this way. Sometimes a great pitch is crushed and sometimes a bad swing results in a double. Nothing you can do about them. However you do have to remember that this is a 'video game' and supposed to be 'fun'. So how do you balance this? You make it more difficult to perform good. You make the player more susceptible to making mistakes. A good example is the pitching meter. When I hit the middle of the bar, the hitter should a majority of the time just miss outright and when I miss, make me pay for it. I feel it's just too random and thus frustrating at times (for some, I'm included). For purists, I can understand why you wouldn't want this so I can say that I would at least want this just as an option. Also, I am aware that sliders can amend some of these issues, however I find it still not rewarding and or punishing enough when needed. Easy to fix too... MVP 2005 was pretty fair at this and still got 'realistic' enough results overall.

                    6. New announcers... nearly everyone has said this so yeah.

                    7. STOP THE BUNTS PLEASE. Nearly every game I play there is an attempt for a drag bunt. This is mostly true in RTTS.

                    8. Make catchers more competent at throwing runners out! I'm not sure about in other modes this year as I played mostly RTTS. However, in RTTS when pitching, whoever is catching me has probably a 1% rate (admittedly an exaggeration but still) at throwing runners out. And it's not just in this years game either.

                    9. New character creation system. The current one is pretty terrible. There are many free online MMO games that have better creation systems than this. Surely the SCE San Diego Studio has enough of a budget to at least be respectable in character creation. Also, add in the ability to scan and add your own face. These are a bit more optional but very easy to adjust so why not but, I'd like to also see the height and weight range be more flexible. RTTS is really just 'fantasy' so why can't I make someone 5'0" and 120 pounds or 7'2" and 350 pounds of pure muscle? Also, add the ability to create a female character. Really isn't any excuse to exclude it from RTTS. Also, adding more sponsored equipment would be nice. I'd love to choose my bat model and glove model. I'm sure some company's would love to have their stuff shown in game. Also customization/crating batting stances and pitch deliveries has also been brought up a lot. I'd love to have that.

                    10. Trading logic needs to be fixed. Many others have already elaborated on this so I won't.

                    11. Manager logic as well.

                    12. Weather/rain delays/double headers same as above.

                    13. Full minor league system. Not that hard (apart from the rights obviously).

                    14. More catcher statistics. It's becoming more evident and clear that catchers do influence the game by a ton. So a stat like 'Pitch framing' and 'Logic' could be applicable for catchers. Actually, now that I think of it, Logic could be something all players could have. 99 Logic hitter could guess/predict pitchers better and playing as one makes it more likely for you to guess correctly.

                    15. Hitter's eye. Many people have requested this as well. Or any other form of pitch recognition would be helpful. Not everyone can view the pitch depth and location and thus timing is the biggest issue when playing baseball video games. In real life, it's hard but at least you have a 3D image to help. Most gamer's don't have that 'luxury'. It would just make the experience less frustrating while adding this to the other hitting addition I mentioned previously shouldn't make the game any 'easier'.

                    16. More dynamic hot/cold streaks and various other modifiers to influence a players 'ability' range. All stats are not static of course but some players are certainly 'more consistent'. So, with that said, with player traits, they could dictate how wide or 'small' their range of hot/cold is thus affecting their consistency. For example, if a hitters base contact is 70, their 'range' could be 10% when playing 'normally'. And during a hot streak, it adds 5% to their base... and then cold, it's minus 20%. There are obviously a ton of other variations you could have to this too thus making players play more 'dynamically' even when neither hot or cold. The only stat's not effected by this should be velocity and durability.

There are a bunch of other things I would wish to add but I am drawing blanks at the moment. I'll come back once I remember them. I know a lot of these probably wont ever happen, but it is my wishlist and as I said these are relatively feasible/easy to do with the game engine they already have. Just not entirely sure it's the product 'they' want to make.
Here is my opinions of the following requests and why.

I agree with each thing here. with the new Generation console more can be done, stretch it to the max

Could be a cool tweak. They should take a page from Netflix's book. After a game have a 20 second timer counting down to the next game with easy button options to either back out to the ROTS menu or immediately jump into the next game. It's an extremely effective "just one more" binge mechanic.

Re: MLB 15 Road To The Show Wishlist

I just remembered some other RTTS specific additions I'd like

                          1. This one would be really difficult to do as it'd require a voice synthesis algorithm to piece together but... it'd be really nice to have your own name (whatever that name is) be able to be created in the game (or any name you like) by typing the name in, the game makes it's best guess if it's not already in the games list, and if it's wrong, you can 'edit' the name to place the correct syllables. Obviously some people might abuse this by using offensive names so if such a thing is ever added, it'd be limited to just offline use only (unless they can also filter and block such names). I realistically don't really ever see a system like this ever being used though as it's so complicated. However as I said, it'd still be really nice since my last name has never been in a video game (and I'm sure many others feel the same).

                          2. More camera angles please. Why can't we choose the standard camera angle for fielding in RTTS? If you don't wanna give us that, then at least fix the camera that's already there. Additionally, I'd also like to see a first person view 'option'. Keyword is option. I can't believe I have to say this but really, when adding something, don't make it mandatory. Make it an option!

                          3. Realistic contract negotiations. When being drafted, I want all the teams interested in me to ask me for tryouts and if they really like me, they call me into an office to ask me questions, etc. And once drafted, It'd be nice to sit in a room and discuss the length of contract and bonuses I could get, etc. That way it can lead into this...

                          4. Make salary money and bonus money matter. Make it so you can 'buy' traits (as I stated in my previous post) or even have them dictate a new stat like 'Influence' where the more money you invest, the more likely that when you perform good, your team also performs good or something along those lines. (Low influence would mean when you do good, it has little effect while performing bad really hurts your team).

I don't know exactly how to scale the money, but you could also have money matter for how much 'Social Stability' you have where spending too much can make your player stressed and more likely to get into slumps/cold streaks and lower team morale/chemistry. This could be a percentage modifier so if you spend more than half your earnings, it starts to negatively effect your 'Social Stability'. This makes it so that when you are a free agent, you want to negotiate or go to a team with more money. That way you use that extra money for investing in influence (this would also be a percentage modifier) and maintaining traits (costs to maintain traits go up with say your 'expectation' from a club) without having to worry about spending more without having to worry about social stability. Speaking of which...

                          5. Club expectations matter more. As I stated above, it should matter from what the club expects from you when trying to sign you. For example, say a club wants to sign you for 100 million for 4 years. Sounds great! But they expect you to provide say 30 hr's and 100 rbi's or a WAR of at least 6 every year... The game would tell you how much social stability that would effect you by. Can you live up to that? The penalty for not doing so incrementally lowers your social stability thus making it harder to maintain traits and influence (because you need to spend less money to raise social stability).

These formula's (and names) would need work as I just wrote these down in a first draft, but I think it would really help make money matter as well as your interaction with your club, fans, and teammates.

How about the ability to create/modify the appearance of bench coaches, base coaches, scouts, etc. without necessarily having control of their attributes. I hate those generic coaches when an actual coach/manager retires or gets fired.

I think what needs to be updated is the sounds on the field, especially the bat hitting ball sounds. In all the years I've been playing baseball games, the ASB series had the best in terms of bat on ball.
1458, not counting playoffs, that's the number of games in a row I haven't missed! Go Yanks!
