Hey man I was having the same issues as you. I went on youtube looking for help and I and this video helped alot. Don't know the guy at all so it's not propaganda..lol. After using this video my hitting has been 100% better. I was not getting hits with the Yankees so I know it was me..lol

Note: I don't use visual aids just PCI and I also do not use any Guess Pitch or location.

How is the hit variety? Are you seeing more bloopers or line drives?

Slider tweaks is your best friend. I adjusted mine playing on veteran timing hitting interface. I adjusted the contact to 6, timing to 6, power is 4, foul freq is 3 and solid hit at 4. I am playing in the franchise, so I seen an improvement for one game. Scoring 8 runs which included 4 homers, 2 doubles, triple off the wall in the Citizen bank field vs. Lee and the Phillies. The next game vs. the Mets and Harvey on the mound. I only had 1 run on 6 hits. That is the game baseball......

Out of curiosity, why would you turn the power down? I take it by bumping up solid hits, you hit more home runs.... if that's the case, is that a bad thing?

LMFAO, why does everyone use Zone hitting interface so much? It sucks, simple as that. Makes it way harder than it needs to be. I use Pure Analog and have done so for the past three years. It accounts for stride/timing and as well as the direction you point the analog stick after your stride. I'm hitting over .280 with the WHITE SOX through 60 games and top 5 in home runs on SUPERSTAR difficulty. Going up to HOF after the first season. All the other hitting interfaces BLOW. End of story.

well in your opinion they may "blow" but I enjoy the Zone hitting. Love the challenge of hitting the pitch and then equally enjoy the reward for successful at-bats.

Great thing about this game, is there are options so everyone can find what works best for them.

Yea that's good, although I don't think they are all created equal. The zone hitting is rewarding, sure, but it takes a lot to master compared to Pure Analog.

Again, that is what is so great about the series, there are options so everyone can choose to play the game as they see fit.

                      R2 + L3 to either 3 or 9 "o'clock"

It's also a bit of a legacy issue (IMHO), so I use 4 contact and 6 solid hits to make "10", as opposed to 5 / 5...

Might not be the fix for all, but I'm VERY happy with the hit variety...
what make u decide if you want to use the swing influence to either 3 or 9 oclock and do you use this with every at bat?

OP how long have you been playing the game and this has been a problem?

No offense to anyone but before we start throwing out solutions like sliders and swings lets find out more about the issue. Like what difficulty is he on, what team he uses, things like that. For all we know he could be using power swing with the Twins.

Re: hitting pop ups over, and over.....

This has been a problem ever since they re-did the physics the second time, before last year's game.

It's not nearly as bad as it was last year, but it's definitely still a problem that I see - uhh... pop up (sorry), from time to time.

It's a flaw in the way they chose to approach the ball physics, but I won't get into that.

Increasing Foul Frequency helps a lot. I leave mine at 10, since that produces a realistic rate of foul balls anyway (about half of the balls you make contact on should be foul).

My preferred solution is to decrease Contact 1 point, to reduce the number of pitches I make contact on. That way, instead of popping up on a pitch you barely touched, you just miss it completely.

And finally, you can increase Solid Hits by 2 or 3 points.

You don't need to do all of these at once, obviously. I'd try foul freq first, and then solid hits 2nd.

The problem is you are using timing and taking the control away from yourself. Use Zone, and take an approach. If you want no pop ups move the PCI up before the pitch and keep it there. Instead of the cpu arbitrarrily aiming with no rhyme or reason to it. Like aiming high with a slow hitter, runner on 1st and less than 2 out, everyone and their mother know pitches are gonna be down to induce the double play. On timing, most times you will see the pci was aimed high for you. Go to zone and never deal with dumb cpu decisions for you again.

Hit about 6 popups in the last game I played so frustrating. Most of the popups should be swings and misses or popups that go out of play.
