Next year and grapchis?
So i know some people like me thought the graphics would be better not that the game looks bad it dosnt but nba 2k14 has much better grapchis and now affter seing the first nba live 2015 screens it looks like nba live 15 has better graphics then this game to. Nba live 14 didnt look that good and normaly you only seen a big upgrade with grapchis in sports games when you go to a new conslers but form year to year normaly small up grades in grapchis. I know that mlb 07-08 was a big upgrade on ps3 graphics and after seing nba live 15 i think mlb 15 the show is going to be a big upgrade to does any one else agree that next year will be a big upgrade in graphics?Tags: None -
Re: Next year and grapchis?
I strongly agree, they will make player models look much more humanistic. What was top shelf on PS3 is almost below average for this platform of games. Look at GTA V models as well, which were stunning in PS3 but already show age in the PS4 trailer.
I've been thinking about this too, and they will surely revamp the humanistic qualities of their player models. I even see them remodeling the entire player for this new system, if they want to begin implementing the new body physics we should expect introduced next season.Red Legend -

Player models as well animations, open and closed roof versions of stadiums should be on top of the list of improvements for next year.Spending time with Jesus!

Re: Next year and grapchis?
I was surprised the graphics were only marginally better than the PS3 version. I believe there is much room for improvement going forward and feel NBA 2k set the bar. I would hope to see improvement particularly with player faces. It's on me. I shook his hand too hard. It was a hard ... kind of a slap-shake.

Re: Next year and grapchis?
Comparing MLB to NBA is like comparing apples and oranges, only commonality is that they are both fruit, where as the aforementioned are both sports.
NBA is 5v5, with 12 man active rosters. Other than appearal, there is no extra equipment in the game. Arenas don't really vary all that much from each other. The court is a single surface. There isn't as much to worry about so more detail can be put into player models without sacrificing framerate.
MLB is 9 v 9 with 25 man active rosters. Most stadiums aren't domes, so you have the surrounding area to build. Every field is very unique. Players have gloves, catchers equipment, hats, sunglasses, bats, shin guards, elbow pads, and so on. You have wind physics, ball phyics interacting with dirt, grass (plus where the dirt and grass intersect), the walls, bases.
Although I think they could eventually get close, they will never be able to match the player detail. Resources are spread out across more areas in MLB games than they are in NBA games. I don't think you can say NBA 2k set the bar for sports graphics because of all the sports, it is the one with the fewest players; therefore, more resources can be spent on each player. They set the bar for NBA games and nothing else. It's a comparison that will always say graphics sucks for MLB, Soccer, NHL, NFL.Comment

Re: Next year and grapchis?
It was mentioned awhile back from a poster that their claim was this new generation was going to be more focus on lighting and not higher polygon counts, stadiums excluded and that did get a "like" from Ramone so there is that. However I too was a little underwhelm by the graphics on the ps4 when I first got the game, but after playing the game for over a month I can say with confidence that the graphics are a bigger jump than I originally thought and that is because of the lighting in the game, it gives the game more depth of field, and a more realistic look than what it was on the ps3. I always plays as the cardinals and to me you really don't notice the depth on the players when they are playing at home in the white uniforms but you really notice the depth when the cardinals are in the away gray uniforms. So with that being said I think a lot of the graphics can be improved greatly just by nailing down the lighting the stadiums will have more pop to them if everything inside and around them had proper lighting and textures. the new stadiums are done well but the right lighting and shadows they can be even better.Comment

Re: Next year and grapchis?
I expect the graphics to improve some, but really, the game already looks SO good. I take screenshots from time to time just because it's so eye catching. I can't imagine the graphics upgrading too much. I mean, they already lead the charge for sports game graphics.Comment

Re: Next year and grapchis?
I think all the new gen titles first major next step will be achieving the skin fidelity nba 2k has, and allegedly WWE 15 will have. L.A Noire is the only other game I have seen with such a humanistic quality in their characters graphics. It will take some very concentrated work in this specific department, like LA Noire and NBA 2K had done, which all titles can't afford to focus on like other posters have eluded.
It's not so much the facial features of MLB The Show as it is the clear cartoonish distinction the players have from reality which is mainly because of their lack of skin types. To their credit NBA 2K is the only game out there with this level of advancement, all the other titles are on par with each other just about, except for NBA Live 14.Red LegendComment

Re: Next year and grapchis?
They gotta improve all colors. Grass, dirt, walls, skies, uniforms... you name it. To me though, that seems like a thing that was also PS3-feasible.
Hoping for redone player models, animated jersey cloth and a realistic broadcast camera. Those things would be at the forefront of awesomeness for me.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: Next year and grapchis?
I know next year they will make the graphical leap I had hoped I'd see this year. Great game of baseball though, the gameplay is unmatched as far sports games go, but now in the more powerful system I expect more, I'm not giving SCEA a pass, and I don't mean to knock them either if that makes sense...
