all highlights are out of synch and not a true representation of what is actually going on in the gameComment

Yeah the highlights are messed up. Seems like I'm hitting home runs off my helmet. But in-game the pitch was in the strike zone.Comment

Re: So Sad..
Last year the online was pretty darn good. This year they changed the pitching/hitting interface, so there is virtually no lag. They copied off of Pro Spirits (Japan baseball game) online interface. It stinks the synchronization is a mess this year, but I am sure it will only improve.
It is pretty selfish some would want the online thrown out completely when they probably haven't even give it a chance or they are too stubborn to do. I played online 100 pct last year (DD and online rated) and loved it. I love the competition, making myself better, and making people quit. I also love the social interaction with the leagues and the management aspect of DD. However, I would never say to only focus on online last year. For one, that will never happen and I am also not that stubborn to realize online and offline satisfies different players.
This year I have played 100 percent offline, except COTW and once again...I still love every minute of it. The challenge and management aspect of franchise mode where I control a team like the Astros. The slow and steady progression where patience and persistence will lead me to satisfaction. Where I can actually experience my mistakes in the draft and FA signings and other roster moves that may involve not having a guy on the 40 man roster that is eligible for the rule 5 or not offering a certain player arbitration knowing I can get a comp pick. I love it all and I love seeing the progression.
I am glad the devs take feedback from this great site, but I am also glad they don't RELY on it. Or else we would have games that play more like a movie with long and non skippable cut scenes where we can only use Timing hitting and classic pitching. It is nice to have diversity and you have to realize killing online would be a huge mistake!Comment

I like Extra Innings, but it doesn't award ratings to you or your players, does it? Yes, it awards some money and stubs, but that's true of playing against the CPU-controlled MLB teams, and the MLB games actually award more money -- certainly more if you lose, and usually more if you win. I wish Extra Innings gave some of the same rewards that online head-to-head does.Comment

Re: So Sad..
I agree with this; I don't play on-line because I really don't feel like having a 9 year old with a runny nose quit in the bottom of the 6th because the game is 3-2 not 13-12 (universal problem with on-line games).
I'd play this constantly if it did something to move my team along.Comment

Re: So Sad..
No one can deny online is enjoyable and can be enjoyed by everyone but tfor the series to have the extremely widespread problem online with connectivity issues, while other major releases have no issue at all online connectivity wise is intolerable. I will never enjoy online as much as I will the franchise mode of offline because of the human element online. Even here at this forum you can see we all don't see things eye to eye lol but a close community like this would be the best shot at enduring a long franchise together. But I avoid online not because of this kind of issue, but because of the overwhelming likelihood that some point of the game could be disrupted by connection issue. Even if I would suspect that one pitch could be disrupted, that's a problem. Things online should be reliable, titles in other sports hardly have this kind of issue.Last year the online was pretty darn good. Online could be an enormous asset to this game and even convert offliners like me to look forward to online franchise more than any other mode in the game but this year we don't really have the opportunity to enjoy it. I was in a league about one week after the game launched. Connectivity was not bad at all, but it still disrupted the game. Things I didn't like about online personally, were the easiness of the levels, sliders, then humanistic elements like the fantasy trading, players playing consecutive games in a row all day long, and the general fact that schedules can be played out of order, and various other things, I left the league 3-1 because I wasn't enjoying it and it was cutting in to offline franchise time.Red LegendComment

One of the problems with console games is that they don't let you limit your online play to one region. I would limit my games to the American Southwest so I'm not playing with someone in Maine, which would result in higher latency.
Online play tends to be better on PC because you pick a server based on its ping. You naturally gravitate to servers in your region.
I wish they allowed you to see a list of user created game lobbies based on ping.Comment
