I will say this. It's only going to happen when the cpu team is tied or down by one run late in a game. So if someone is playing on easy settings or something where this situation never occurs, you probably won't see it.

From my experience the cpu has always tried this too often when the above scenario applies.

Your generalization is incorrect...well at least it's not absolute. I'm not sure what the issue is but it's not because of the above.

I was 90 games into my last season with the Astros and my closer had ~28-30 saves and my record was 45-50

I was also pitching on HOF difficulty. There were times when it would've been an acceptable play too. It just never happened. The CPU rarely bunted on me...I'd say less than 10 times in the 90+ games.

Is it QC's that cause it? I don't think so because I use them and Jr. does not. We both haven't had the issue.

You're right. I only play on rookie and make sure I beat the CPU by 10+ runs. If I'm not late in the game, I turn the game off and restart. That's probably why I've never seen it.

Not using QC's and playing every game(220+ games), I've seen the CPU attempt 4 on me. 2 were popped up and resulted in a double play, 1 resulted in the runner being dead at the plate as the hitter missed, 1 was successful.

Tampa was involved in 3, Pittsburgh was the other.

The pop ups both came with 1 out in 9th so the play ended the game.

I don't use QC either and see it constantly.

Just happened in the last game I played. Fast runner up - he drag bunted every PA. Went 0-for-4.

Man on third late - I throw one six inches outside, batter attempts bunt - runner out at home - rally ended.

I don't know what it is either, especially since there's not exactly a slider for it (should be, imo).

About 50 games into my Marlins season - CPU has squeezed 15 times, drag bunted at least 40 times (stopped counting, and I don't face fast lead off types constantly). It's crazy.

For crying out loud. Could you take my words and spin them anymore? I'm not accusing anyone of anything. What I'm trying to say is it conceivable you could play 20 straight games and never have a situation where the squeeze play was even an option for the cpu. Maybe they never had a guy on 3rd late in a close ball game. Maybe they were beating you by 10 runs. Who knows? I'm just agreeing with the OP. It happens too often with good hitters and it's been happening for years.

I use QC's exclusively right now.
I played about 100 games with QC's and have had 1 suicide squeeze against me...(I think it was a missed bunt attempt with men on 1 and 3rd actually...but Matty V. called it a squeeze attempt when the catcher missed the ball in the dirt)

I probably played about 30 non-QC games and had 1 there as well. Straight up SS.

I think it's a tough thing......if they are going to have it in the game....they have to give it a trigger and then a % of happening on that trigger. Some players might just not get the trigger....or the % of it happening....
Some might be hitting it too much on the trigger of the %.

The guys who are hitting it and saying it needs to be toned down....are perplexing the guys who rarely get it and the reverse I guess.

Tough call.

If you're asking if I use quick counts, no 95 %of the time I DON'T use quick counts. What I was thinking is maybe it has to do with the habits of the players input in regards to pitching. Meaning amount of times you've been in the strike zone, or perhaps the consistency of time between pitches, whether ppl vary it much from the time the pitch is chosen to the time the pitch is thrown. Idk kinda grasping at straws, as I've seen a good amount of bunting by the cpu and I've maybe played 50 games but yet others have played a full season if not more and can remember each bunt attempted.... Crazy to say the least.

I wasn't and I apparently quoted the wrong post but as I explained above, I was offering you an explanation as to how people have probably gotten through so many games to this point.

You posted back to back and I assumed they were part of the same thought but apparently that was an incorrect assumption.

Yeah, that's not what you said at all. I'll quote again for emphasis:

I don't have to spin your words at all. You slip the "or something" in there, but it's not hard to see the intent of what you're saying. Those of us that aren't experiencing this, must be playing on easy settings.

Either way, I've played probably around 60-70 full games, and the vast majority of those had a score difference within 3 runs, and I haven't seen a squeeze play yet. Not saying it doesn't happen, just that I'm glad I'm not experiencing it.
