I converted a pitcher in each division using this guide. Jim Johnson is the primary example (the orioles talked of converting him for years) so I turned injuries off and made the edits i suggested and ran several sims and while across the board there were varied results (Justin Wilson 2.14 ERA in a sim yet Aroldis Chapman had an ERA of 5+.) Johnson produced a high 3's/low 4's era consistently. Chapman and Wilson in other sims had vastly different stats but averaging the Earned runs per 9 innings among the 6 starters over 3 sims they sat around the high 3's/low 4's. This is about what you see out of these converted pitchers, especially considering no training was done for these players over time so, especially for the young ones, they would likely develop more as a starter. You dont have to use this system but I will say that pitchers do lose something when they move to the rotation, at least at first.

And while Feliz was performing as a starter his peripherals suggested he was significantly less effective. Lower K rate, higher walk rate contributing to a FIP increase of about a run.
The ERA BUMP is mainly due to how flawed that stat is for relievers in the first place. They can get 1 out a game, give up 2 inherited runs and some hits, and not be charged a run. It is easy to manipulate a reliever's ERA, especially the ones that come in mid inning.

ERA isn't really a good indicator of how they are pitching anyways. As mentioned, K rate, BB rate, with FIP and xFIP would tell you how they are actually doing.

I couldn't believe that trade when I got home (also a Cubs fan). I think many services project Bryant as a corner OF anyway now. His arm should be fine in either spot and he should be there with guys like Almora and Soler if they pan out.

As for the infield, Baez--to me--has always been a 3B prospect, but I rwad somewhere they also see him as an OF candidate. He has the reflexes for SS, but he doesn't quite have the speed. I personally like Castro, so I see him staying at either SS or 2B, with Russell taking the other spot. Alcantara would maybe take OF if Baez moves to 3rd (Alcantara has a caree .803 fielding% at 3B, and has played 16 games in CF this year), but he's likely the odd man out.

I did have Baez at 3B for that season. I ended up trading Alcantara and Soler, so now I have Baez at 2B, Bryant at 3B, and Castro at SS (I don't have Russell as I'm in 2017 in my franchise)

I'm curious how the roster makers at The Show deal with the conversions. I also wonder how they come up with the ratings in the first place
