This Game Makes Me Feel So Bad About Myself
Hands down hardest video game Ive ever played. Sometimes I just sit on my couch in disbelief at how bad I am. Ive tried DD for hitting. Too easy as I seem to hover around rookie+ to Veteran. Hit way too many HRs. So I said screw it and hit on All Star. I go through stretches where Im just lost at the plate. Just made Brandon Beachy look like Cy Young. I adgusted the computer consistency down a notch which I thought would help. But since im pressing so bad now out of frustration I really have no idea.

I'm sure you're not the only one. That's one of the things I've always liked about MLB the show. Always a challenge. -

Well regarding hitting the most important thing is to be patient at the plate. And also you have to know your hitters H/C Zones. And also know when to swing for Power or Contact and if course normal swing. You'll get better just gotta practice a lot.

Re: This Game Makes Me Feel So Bad About Myself
Did you try bumping your sliders at all? Using TNK's set you're rewarded for patience at the plate and being smart on the mound. Turn of DD and just keep working. Make yourself take a strike, it's crazy how that gets you into hitter's counts. And on the mound, don't be afraid to throw out of the zone or you'll get hammered. Good luck man, this can definitely be one of the most frustrating games!

Re: This Game Makes Me Feel So Bad About Myself
Haha, been there. I feel like this year's version refuses to give me the outside edge when I pitch. I go through the same miserable slumps at times and the only thing that helps is to play something else for a day or two then come back to it. In the meantime, stay out of traffic! :-D

Re: This Game Makes Me Feel So Bad About Myself
I was about to make a similar post today until I saw this one. I play on default All-Star with zone hitting and I struggle mightily at times. I'm currently 47-53 on the year and I am last in the league in batting average at .227. I'm last in the league in home runs, last in base on balls, and last in runs batted in. I refuse to drop down to veteran but I am now thinking about bumping up my contact slider one click to 6.
I'm the exact same way as the OP. I love this game but it makes be go into rage mode from time to time. I don't wan to win 100 games playing as the Cubs, but I also don't want to be dead last in every single offensive category.
I do not have a single hitter that is hitting .300, which isn't completely unrealistic with the Cubs. But the fact that I'm only hitting .211 with Starlin Castro is beyond frustrating. Anthony Rizzo is okay and is hitting .255 with 50 RBIs and my team leader in batting average is none other than Nate Schierholtz, with a whopping .263 average. I've got to do something to make my offense just a touch better and since the description of the contact slider in the game game says to move it to the right to increase batting averages, I guess that's a good place to start.Comment

Re: This Game Makes Me Feel So Bad About Myself
Ya I saw your thread Gagnon. I do have computer pitch consistency down one. Havent touched anything else other than manager hook. By lowering things to do with their pitching theoretically will mean more erratic pitching. My biggest problem is chasing sliders to begin with. I just have to keep at it. My pitching is fine. Team era around 3.60 on hof.
On a side note. One button diving. What are the other options? R2 dives r1 jumps?Comment
