how many games on dd? I found I was hitting a lot of HR's at first but things seem to be evening out after about 30 games.

quite a few. I had like 95-97 hrs in like 50 games. It was excessive. I would hover at rookie + and up to veteran if I got hot

This is what I love from this game. I started as Rookie on DD and now reached All-Star and at one point the next level AS but went down because of very poor performance. I'm still in DD....and I loving it. It doesnt feel that the AI is cheating as you advance you in the level, unlike NBA and my most beloved sport NHL (but the most i hate because of what EA is doing...darn bastards).

I really hope that all sports games are like this, and i'll be in sport heaven.

I literally hate Bryce Harpers face right now. This moron missed a fly ball in the outfield. It hit him in the head and hes out with a concussion. You cant make this stuff up

Haha. Justin Ruggiano missed a line drive that hit him right in the face. He missed about four games with a black eye.

As far as frustrations, I always tell myself, "it will get better once you have better players." But Starlin Castro (my best player at an 82 overall) is barely over the Mendoza Line.

I have no choice. I have to go back to DD hitting. Braves just dropped a 3 hit shutout on me and I had my contact bumped. Im all for a challenge but this **** makes me want to smash things.

I get to points where I honestly think about saving the game before each half inning and restarting it from that point if I hit three straight pop-ups on the infield.

idk bud. I dropped it to DD. So now the Marlins have scored 6 runs in two innings and counting on me. Pitching was never my issue. I just dont know

Yeah, pitching is not an issue for me either. I pitch using the analog interface on the Hall of Fame difficulty. I lowered pitch accuracy by one and my pitch consistency by two and I'm still second in the Majors in ERA behind only Atlanta.

I was about to make a similar post today until I saw this one. I play on default All-Star with zone hitting and I struggle mightily at times. I'm currently 47-53 on the year and I am last in the league in batting average at .227. I'm last in the league in home runs, last in base on balls, and last in runs batted in. I refuse to drop down to veteran but I am now thinking about bumping up my contact slider one click to 6.

I'm the exact same way as the OP. I love this game but it makes be go into rage mode from time to time. I don't wan to win 100 games playing as the Cubs, but I also don't want to be dead last in every single offensive category.

I do not have a single hitter that is hitting .300, which isn't completely unrealistic with the Cubs. But the fact that I'm only hitting .211 with Starlin Castro is beyond frustrating. Anthony Rizzo is okay and is hitting .255 with 50 RBIs and my team leader in batting average is none other than Nate Schierholtz, with a whopping .263 average. I've got to do something to make my offense just a touch better and since the description of the contact slider in the game game says to move it to the right to increase batting averages, I guess that's a good place to start.

I don't understand why you do this to yourself. Unbiasedly I can say you are playing over your difficulty level. I used to do the same thing though so I guess I do understand. Drop it down a notch and pump up the cpu via sliders if you have to. Its much more fun and realistic that way.
Unless you are having fun...but when folks say how bad they suck, well, I don't know how fun that can be. Good luck

Game makes me feel bad about myself for completely different reasons.
I play so much the grass remains uncut in my back yard, my boss is still waiting for those reports I needed to do weeks ago, my wife can't get no loving.
I haven't even seen my son since spring training ended.

I feel you OP!!! I literally feel my mood change for the better or worse based on my performance in this game. Mainly it makes me frustrated when I put good swings on balls and I end up with one run in the game.

Last night I'm down 9-7 in the 9th bases loaded two outs and I hit a damn rocket right to the CF to end it. Battles so hard to come back and just missed winning that game.

So I admitted defeat for the time being and went back to DD for hitting. So its on rookie for the the time being. I have a question though. I went off some slider sets here though. I lowered computer pitch consistency strike zone and whatever the third is. I still really cant draw walks as they pump in strikes for the most part. Is this due to the easy difficulty right now?
If I settle on Veteran can I get a realistic strike ratios. That was really only reason I tried hitting on AllStar as I knew I could draw walks if I was patient.....

I hate Kris Medlens face btw. Scored one run off him in 17 innings. Just dont get it. His stuff seems so hittable....
