Glad I'm not the only one. That's why I pitch on All-Star. I just shrink the pitching meter down in camera editor, and lower my sliders down a bit.

Those sliders when it's a righty on righty matchup or lefty on lefty... going away... can never lay off of them, and when I do it somehow hits the corner.

I can never catch a break.

So about 5 times per game
Why did I move here? I guess it was the weather.

This is me too. The differences in pitchers ability really come out with the one slider modification I make vs. the CPU - Foul Frequency to zero. There are absolutely still foul balls, walks, k's, the balance is still there. But the multiple 10+ pitch at bats per game are gone.

Since it narrows the timing window drastically, I can and will chase, swing and miss more often on a Strasburg - type pitcher than a pitch-to-contact guy.

I need to check next time, but my guess would be 10-15. The ones on the black that can go either way....I don't really consider that "out of the zone" more than the umpires just being inconsistent in the game. I'll check next game. I usually play on Legend with Pitch speed at 8.

I am curious to compare our slider sets. Here is what I use roughly:
                Legend hitting pitch speed 8
HOF pitching with CPU contact, timing, power, and solid hits at 4 plus user pitch control at 4 (where it makes it harder to control and locate).
Fielding Reaction and speed at 2, user pitcher starter's stamina at 6, reliever stamina at 4, injury frequency at 3.
CPU pitching control, strike frequency, and consistency all at 4 too.

I don't touch my hitting sliders. I only make it where the CPU will throw roughly more balls and some games they still throw 65-70 pct of strikes.

I've used AS pitching while boosting the CPU's offensive sliders and vice versa. I prefer HOF because it makes using the analog pitching that much more difficult.

i used to be awful with this, but i changed to zone + analog hitting and i fixed a lot of the problems. you dont swing as much unless you really commit to it.

I used to really hate how the announcers would react to you "chasing" pitches in this game. It could be a change up, just barely below the zone that you either swing through or foul off, and Matt Vasgersian's arrogant *** would say, "Oh it could have been 3-1 but it's 2-2 because he chased that pitch," or something along those lines.

It doesn't happen as much now but it used to be annoying to hear them tell you how bad you are "chasing pitches" when it's like 1 inch out of the zone.

For instance, I take a look at cardinalbird's pic that he posted up there, and the 2 outs that you see on the left edge and at the top of the zone can hardly be considered "chasing." If you've got 2 strikes, that's protecting the plate. If you've got less than 2 strikes and you take that pitch, that's just being selective. I know he's a good player, so I can only assume those were swung at when he had 2 strikes on him. There's really no sense in swinging at that with less strikes unless you're just being kind of impatient or feeling really confident.

And it does pay to be really patient in this game. Makes you a much better hitter if you are. I would imagine that I take far more strikes if the pitch is not in an area I'm looking for than the average player of this game.
