Can you guys talk about Dynamic Difficulty 2.0 and how it's been refined and/or changed from last year?

Outfielders seem to be too fast and what should be doubled are singles, has this been addressed?

Line drives hitting the pitcher happens all the time in Mlb 14, has this been looked at?

I saw a mix, fielded, flubbed and some too fast to grab. In general I don't hit a lot up the middle personally, which I think has to do with my timing when I hit. I think that is why some see more issues up the middle then others imo.

last year a few slap hitters, IE Billy Hamilton, Dee Gordon and Ichiro to name a few their follow through was as if they were lunging at the ball and would corkscrew their bodies. Changing stances etc had no effect. With it being Japanese and slap hitter swing types now being selectable hoping this as been resolved? Did you get a chance to see improved slap hitters?

Japanese and slap-hitter swing types now selectable (PS4 Only)

I think the Japanese swings looked really good last year, like Ichiro's, but the slap swings looked terrible IMO.

But by selectable, i also hope they mean, you can edit it from existing players that don't need it, like a guy like Jurickson Profar shouldn't really have that slap hit type style.

In the past it seems the Show suffers from a lot of station to station baseball. Runners usually only advance one base on a single or a lot of players are thrown out at home when trying to score from second, even with 2 outs. Did you see any changes is this regard?

Speeds off the bat felt more organic to me. To me the system does a better job relaying your quality and poor quality contact.

I am sure there are behind the scenes calculations going on for this but visually for example I did not see balls deadened when they hit a padded wall.

No problem, thanks for replying. Related to the directional hitting - did you notice if we can "inside out" a pitch now?

Any new sliders aside from the Dynamic Difficulty "adapt rate" slider (I don't know what else to call it), and the speed sliders being broken up into IF and OF?

Echo H & V for more info on Dynamic Difficulty too.

I am a zone guy so that is my mode of choice. I do encourage everyone to try the directional hitting even if you are a zone person, it is balanced very well and it is not overdone in its approach where just pressing up results in a home run fest.

I did not check, I use manual fielding. Maybe one of the other guys used auto fielding.

To me there was improvement with this and is more noticeable now that things have been slowed down. With some of the slower guys you have to get on your horse to try and run balls down only to have that sinking feeling that you are not going to catch up to it.

Base running felt good and you can differentiate slower and faster runners. The speed paradigm they showed in the stream really adds to the experience.

Awesome stuff, thanks for taking the time to give us your thoughts on all of these questions.

Sounds like the speed adjustments to the outfielders may really help the realism in terms of hit variety. In the past games, the fast outfielders were able to comfortably run down just about everything, so rarely needed to even use the dive button. And even the slower outfielders managed to run down most everything except obvious shots in the gap or into the corners.

As was mentioned in the stream there is a slider. Moving it all the way to the left locks it into your current difficulty. Moving it to the right allows you to accelerate the promotions and demotions twice as fast. In trying it you have to start from scratch like last year. I did not see an option where you could cherry pick any of the plus difficulties or start higher then Rookie.
