MLB 15 The Show Player Rating Predictions

I think you missed when I wrote that I agree Kershaw is the best regular season pitcher and that I agree you can't base someone's whole attributes just from the post season....but I said they should be added into the formula somehow. Whether it's separate ratings for Post Season or just simply integrated with regular stats..the post season stats can't be over looked.

Either way can wait to see what they rank these guys plus many others!

I don't agree post season stuff should be added. Like I said before, Bumgarner was crushed in 2012 post season. Reds and Cards walloped him pretty good. So, would you have given him bad post season stuff based on 2012? Or would you rather post season stuff is ignored? A player can be great in one post season and terrible in another.

I think I saw Bumgarner rated a 92 somewhere, maybe 94 for The Show 15. Either way, he is good and has potential. I think he has more potential than Strasburg.

Bumgarner is so vastly overrated due to his small playoff sample sizes, it's unbelievable. He's a very good pitcher, but he's not even a top 10 pitcher in baseball.

Here are his WAR leaderboard rankings in the past few years....

2014 - 20th
2013 - 28th
2012 - 34th

Or ERA+ perhaps....

2014 - 27th
2013 - 18th
2012 - 43rd

The only thing his small postseason success should affect is his CLUTCH rating, not his overall.

Every single one since Bum didnt start game 7. Not like it mattered though. The little ******* still won them the game.

That changes nothing though. Im with the people that say Clutch should be the rating that goes ip from good post seasons. Not every single stat. You arent magically better or worse just because one game is more important than another. You are just able to stay calm and do your job.

But he ended it..and you get what he meant lol. Look I'm sure we can all go all day on this...regardless I can't wait to see what he is rated and I can't wait to see what other pitchers are rated as well.

Either way I will be dominating with him on the mound!

Bum's gonna be a 99 in my game AND I plan on using him in left against lefties, so he better be getting a major hitting upgrade as well. If not I'll take care of that as well.

Bumgarner was an 89 last year, with proper pitch edits he was an 87. So even if you boost all of his pitching ratings by 10 he still falls short of a 99.

If you give him reasonable boosts to clutch, BB/9, and H/9 (+5-10), he's somewhere around 90, +/- 1-2.

If you want to take the postseason into account, you also have to include his horrid 2012 performance since the show rates on a weighted 3-year basis.

Yea I definitely don't think he should be a 99. And as far as the 2012 post season performance...still don't forget he didn't give up any earned runs at all in the World Series that year. In all 3 World Series he has only given up 1 run and that was a HR this past World Series. Which leads to the lowest ERA of a starting pitcher with like 25 innings pitched.

Either way all I said was Post Season performances have to be thrown in to the equation. Now whether it's for OVR or just Clutch I don't know. But we can't act like the post season performances never happened. That's where the difference between a great ball player and a legend is made!
