Re: MLB 15 The Show: Franchise Mode Stream Full Recap/Notes
Quick question: the first post summary mentions that player models will updated. Does that apply to minor leaguers from the OS Minors roster too? For example, will my fake Mookie Betts suddenly become real Mookie Betts? I figure the answer is probably no, but I can dream.
That's the only question I have left as well. Could they possibly link it based on name even though they were first implemented as a created player?Prototype Supreme

Re: MLB 15 The Show: Franchise Mode Stream Full Recap/Notes
I should probably wait until the game comes out before I criticize, but I have a problem with the lack of stat tracking, contract negotitions, and I am not confident that this new 'player performance tracker' is going to work.
1. In previous videos about MLB 15 the developers were saying how 'fans have been asking for it for a long time', why haven't you delivered? Before you say 'there is not enough GB space' don't give me that, 2k sports managed to have stats galore.
2. I think the contract system is dumbed down to the point where it is kind of insulting to the MLB the show users. We should be able to offer Minor League Contracts, incentive deals, contract bonuses and so on and so forth. Location should also have an impact; Example: Some players avoiding going to certain cities because of higher taxes, family reasons, etc.
3. As for the biggest problem in the game is player regression. Last year the Show producers said they fixed the problem from MLB 13 where players with overall in the 90's would decrease to the 60's or so. I will admit that it was a little better for MLB 14 the show but not even close to realistic. I just finished a season and Tim Hudson decreased to 14 attribute points in each category over the year. R.A Dickey is a knuckleball pitcher, he is not going to regress until he is 45 or up let alone retire.
I understand that MLB the show developers have a lot on their plate and I respect them for the work that they do, but maybe they show start fixing the bigger problems in the game and it starts by listening to their fans.Comment

People always complain "well, 2k did it so there's no reason SCEA can't." I don't know. Different dev teams? Different games? Just because 2k did something doesn't mean SCEA can?Comment

I stopped reading after this sentence.
SCEA has a significantly smaller dev team than does 2k. So that may be part of the reason.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

2k glossed over basically everything else, it rendered the "stats galore" a moot point IMO. However, for what it was, I still enjoyed, as much as one could, 2k baseball. If the Show had to sacrifice the rest of their game to get advanced stat tracking right, I'd have to say No, Thank You. Still, with the Show ready to hit the their stride on the ps4 in 15 & 16, you have to figure advanced stat tracking is right around the corner. Like they say, "Patience is a virgin." Or something like that.T-BONE.

Has the Spring Training substitution issue been fixed? (CPU would not sub out positional players. This issue existed in the All-Star Games as well.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I suppose if that's true than I shouldn't be too frustrated than.

I would completely agree here, but seeing as baseball is a game of strategy built on stats it is very disappointing for me.Comment

Re: MLB 15 The Show: Franchise Mode Stream Full Recap/Notes
Quick question for y'all...in franchise mode, your budget can either be preset (just pick a team and start), or calculated based on total salary from fantasy draft + $10 mil. Is there any way to make all teams have the same budget? Has anyone had any luck with setting everyone's contract equal, then holding the draft, then letting the salaries correct themselves after year 1?
My friends and I like to get together once a week (Monday nights for Madden frans, Sunday nights for MLB) and do our franchise, each of us with our own team. Having different budgets kinda kills the fun a little bit, since I loaded up on prospects last time only to have a massively lower budget than another team who drafted Darvish, Ibanez, Rivera, Pettitte, etc.Comment

Thought of a question.
Has there been any changes to the draft this year? Longer? More players? Better scouting?
Thanks!I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
