Re: MLB 15 - Manage Only Mode
Yes that is what I mean. With the HUDs I could see when the base runners took that extra step and then I would choose to throw over to 1st. I made the attempt hundreds and hundreds of times in MLB 14 and only ever succeeded twice. But now the base runners don't even take the extra step. At least in three games I have yet to see them and trust me when you play as the Rockies the opposition gets plenty of base runners on base in a game.Comment

Re: MLB 15 - Manage Only Mode
On defense, I use the runner windows to know when to attempt pickoffs. Not successful too often, but when it is, it's pretty exciting. Of course, if runners aren't taking extra leads anymore, that won't really be necessary. On offense, I use the runner windows more for being able to see my runners speed and steal ratings without having to pause the game. This helps me strategize when to call for a steal or hit and run. So yeah, I'd definitely like the windows back.
The only other thing I can think of that's noticeably missing are the pitch speed and type that appear in the score bug after each pitch, as well as the flames animation on blazing fastballs.
Oh yeah, and the weather always defaults to 'Clear Skies'. Last year it would randomly select weather and then you could change it.
One new addition I'm really liking is the new defensive alignment screen. Great to be able to see each opposing batters spray chart in that screen. Very helpful.Comment

Re: MLB 15 - Manage Only Mode
I just finished another MoM game and it appears the reason why the "Runners" HUD windows were removed was because the base runners no longer take that extra step from their leads on 1st base when there are no runners on 2nd. Because the base runners no longer take that extra step, there is no longer the need to try and pick the base runners off and since there is no point in trying to pick someone off there is no point in having the HUD (of course the HUD is also useful when the ball has been hit especially hit into the outfield). Back to trying to pick the runners off, granted in MLB 14, I must have tried to pick them off hundreds and hundreds of times and only ever succeeded twice and that was when I had a leftie pitcher on the mound with a good move, the opposition had a sub par base runner who still took that extra step and was frozen on the pitcher's move to 1st. We were told MoM worked the same in MLB 15 than it did in MLB 14, but clearly this is not the case as slowly features of the mode are being removed.
Oh and I have seen my CPU opponents successfully execute a hit and run against me, but I have only tried to hit and run myself in MLB 15 a few times (none of my attempts have worked) and my sample size of hit and runs is too small at this time to have an opinion on the topic. Any comments on hit and runs in MLB 15? They worked after a patch in MLB 14, but do they still work?
PS: my game was not all that negative. Okay I lost the game that was negative LOL, just like in the real world my virtual Rockies pitching staff failed me this evening in a 7-4 loss to the Rangers. But the cool thing was how the crowd thinned out in the late innings of the game. There was only a handful of people in the stands along the 1st and 3rd base lines. But a large portion of the people who stayed until the end of the game gathered all together in the grand stands near home plate, just as they would at a real game. haha
I've used hit and run once and it worked perfect. Shortstop went to cover second and Murphy hit it were the shortstop was and Lagaras ended up on third. Although he did stop at second for a second and then continued on and just got to third in time.Comment

Re: MLB 15 - Manage Only Mode
Yes......
I realize it's the same as last year....the only thing I hope they fixed was the CPU never throwing over to 1B for a pickoff.
I will beg for some changes for '16.....and send a plethora of F.D.N.Y. shirts and hats as "swag" bribery.
-choose pitch type and location
-2 player manage only mode(same PS4...I realize online will likely never happen)
-ability to "coach" baserunners and have them take a base or stop
-ability to queue up a pinch hitter....
My top wants....

Been a very long time since I mentioned this, but, if you happen to think about it, please mention the cpu making pitching and lineup changes on its own for my team when I use fast forward. It seems to kick in with pitchers around the sixth inning, meaning that I have to play every pitch from that inning on - totally defeating the purpose of that feature and adding to the time it takes to complete games/seasons. It is not as bad with position players though at times when I am resting a better player, it will put the regular player (with the higher rating) back in the first time I try to fast forward. There are other occasional managerial decisions that the CPU makes, but these are the most annoying and they have been a problem for years. I was hoping that with PS4 it might be fixed, but it hasn't so far. Not a deal breaker (I still love The Show), but it does make a difference for someone like me who plays manager-mode only. Thanks.Comment

Re: MLB 15 - Manage Only Mode
Is anyone seeing the cpu pitcher make pick off attempts? I'm watching cpu v cpu games and I have yet to see any despite having the slider maxed out.
Could just be me, but slightly worried that this may be related to the non display of the base runner windows perhaps?
If you could mention this to SCEA for checking Knight that'd be appreciated. ThanksDedicated member of the CPU v CPU worldwide brethren.Comment

Also I would assume that Challenges will not be in MoM this season. It would have been nice to have it. But we are fighting to get MoM back to playing the way it used to play last year. Asking for new features is clearly not going to happen. With the exception of possibly Hit and Runs which if memory serves correct did not work, MoM was at it's best back in MLB 13 and has gotten worse every year since then.Comment

Re: MLB 15 - Manage Only Mode
I've been running mostly cpu vs. cpu games so far to make sure I get my sliders to my liking. I haven't seen a pitcher make a pickoff throw to first base yet.Comment

Re: MLB 15 - Manage Only Mode
Man.....only able to get a game in here and there due to being busy....and I gotta run into "that pitcher".
Mets playing Philly.
Philly has Matt Wisler throwing and he K's 15 Mets and wins 3-0.
I wish there was a "yell at your team" option! They'd get an earful right now.
