Anyone play on 10 pitch speed?

Just wondering if anyone else does. I have been playing with it on at 7-8 for most of the year. I bumped it up to 10 and realized it wasn't that much faster, but it definitely is a challenge. I also have it on Legend hitting.

Anyone else bump the pitch speed to 9 or 10? Which one would be more realistic in terms of time it takes for the ball to get the plate? It feels pretty challenging on 10, but not overly impossible. My one gripe would be for how difficult it is to pull the ball, but that is baseball for you.

I've messed around with it on 10 a few times, it is harder but I can hit with it. You are right about it being hard to pull the ball. You just don't have time to sit and watch a pitch to see what it is gonna do, and I don't know which pitch speed is more realistic.

See, now that's funny, because I only play on max speed, and there's times where I'm ahead of the fastball!!! It's very realistic, because if I'm sitting fastball, and get an offspeed pitch, I look like a fool!

Yeah, I ONLY play 10 speed too, (and I've been quick on a few FB's in my day too lol)... But yeah, I won't go slower.

          Yeah I play on 10.

I find it easier to read pitches due to noticing the speed difference more.

I was going to talk about reading pitches in my post. lol.... Sometimes I find it hard to lay off really outside or really high FB's, (especially if I'm sitting on one)... but yeah, breaking balls are insane to read on 10.... just got used to it I guess. Sometimes I'll chase a slider WAYYYYYY outside, and sometimes I'll recognize it early and let it go and have a ball called off the paint. It's weird. (And lucky) lol.

I used to play at 10 but I only do 7-8 now. The biggest reason for the drop was because I paid dearly for it with online leagues. Most leagues are at default and my timing was way, way off.

Re: Anyone play on 10 pitch speed?

I struggle horribly with pitch recognition (probably due some to my off-center TV placement ), so even on the default pitch speed I have some trouble. But if I lower it a couple notches, I can definitely read pitches a little better, but i tend to get pretty pull happy, even with non-pull hitters. If I'm sitting on a fastball and get it, chances are I pull it foul even if I make solid contact. So I have yet to find the right balance.

Hoping the new pitch breaks in this year's game make a difference

10 is too fast for me so I play on 8 speed.

Re: Anyone play on 10 pitch speed?

Dang! I didn't realize others did this lol. It is a very fun experience.

I am just curious what difficulty and hitting interface you guys use.

Playing on Legend actually increases the pitch speed even more, so technically Legend+10 Pitch speed is the fastest!

I use Zone plus Analog or Zone. I think I hit better with Zone Plus Analog because the stride allows me to get my timing down pat.

It is also a chore going from this to playing games online, but I just pretend I am playing little league or something when I go online lol. Pitches come in at like 65-75 mph.

I recently changed my batting view to a custom camera. The one downside of the camera was that it made pitches look really slow on default. I bumped it up to 10 and now it's perfect. I feel 10 is the most realistic in general however that depends on your TV/monitors response time. I play on a computer monitor that has a 1 ms response time so there's virtually no delay.

Re: Anyone play on 10 pitch speed?

I have played on pitch speed 7-8 90% of the time this season. Today I switched to 9 and liked the look and feel. I play on All-Star and use zone hitting.

No matter what I do I only seem to strike out 3-5 times per game on All-Star or lower difficulty. I have turned down timing and foul ball frequency at different points, too.

I like the lowered timing, but I IMO, lowering foul balls actually decreases my likelihood of getting in an a 2-strike count and I struck out even less. Turning up pitch speed to 10 just made me more twitchy and I pop-up the ball a lot, rather than K.

I do know that using HOF while hitting seems to make me K more, but I haven't had the time of late to begin the slider adjustments that would support my change.

With dynamic difficulty 2.0, perhaps I will lock in an All-Star+ setting that will work?

                            ...random long post over...lol.

Just try HOF and see if you like it. What is your hitting stats like on AS?
