Re: MLB 15: The Show Q & A Thread
There is a digital manual, if you're on PS4: go to launch the game, but instead of clicking it, wait for the related stuff to load up. D-Pad down/right. There's the Digital Manual (along with addons, weblinks etc..)
On Ps3 is't similar.
There is also an online manual at shownation:
OWN THE SHOW Experience faster, deeper and more intense moment-to-moment match action on the field, with a variety of game modes for all you rookie players and returning seasoned vets. Purchase Live out your dreams Step on the diamond while surrounded by corn fields with the addition of MLB® Field of Dreams added to MLB® […]
As far as your pitching questions, they kind of touched on it a few times in pre-launch streams. Basically in the new pitching system, the path of the ball
is exactly that. The path the ball takes through the air. And the exact landing spot is also marked. If you use Metered pitching, you just try to make a good pitch and the ball will follow the path you see. It's pretty simple.
If that's not clear, consult the manual.Comment

Re: MLB 15: The Show Q & A Thread
I can say with a really good degree of certainty that the pitch trail is pointing to where you want the pitch to end up as it crosses the plate. A lot of factors can cause it to not go there. But if you really simplify things by putting it on Rookie Meter pitching, and hit a perfect release, you'll get a pretty good idea of what's going on.
Ignore the fact that this is pitch command and I'm throwing the wrong pitch, but this is me throwing 20 Curveballs on Rookie. Watch what happens when I reel off about 5 or 6 perfect or close to perfect releases in a row. Also, I'm not aiming these pitches - the old aiming cursor would be pointed right down the middle.

The reason this gets so muddled at times in actual games is because there's always inaccuracy factored into every pitch you throw, even before you start factoring in confidence and stamina. And it gets increased the more effort you put behind a pitch or (in the case of meter) how badly you miss the accuracy point. So, even though you might be aiming for a corner and get a semi-decent release, your pitch might be a foot outside or back over the middle of the plate - perhaps right where your initial breakpoint aim was.
And thank you for using YouTube instead of Twitch!!!
It seems pretty clear based on this that the new OSD is designed to be our intended end-point.Comment

Re: MLB 15: The Show Q & A Thread
As I tried to explain in a quote (that got held for moderation) is that I still find pitching confusing in metered mode.
What is the real point of using that mode if the end result is still semi-random? I never know if my input (in terms of adjusting the pitch aim) will have desired effect even with a perfect pitch. And it is not the case of the pitches missing by a little either, they can be way off.
Also a bit confused why we have to be guessing at stuff like this. Back in the old days this used to be in the manuals....Comment

I think the bigger key to pitching successfully in this game, rather than mastering whichever input you use, is managing the randomness involved in pitching when you aren't perfect - and that goes for ALL pitching modes. That usually means aiming a little further out to the corners than I think I need to - because if I miss I'd rather have a better chance of the ball being outside than hanging over the plate to get mashed. This philosophy also has the effect of producing a few more walks allowed, which is also a simulation concept.Comment

Re: MLB 15: The Show Q & A Thread
So I wanted to ask this question again, because this is killing me and I can't find it anywhere. Starting to think I may need to delete and reload the game. Literally, every ball that is hit to my player in RTTS is dropped, fly or grounder, 100% of the time. I have tried 2B/3B/LF. I have tried just standing there and having the ball roll to me slowly and the ball still bounces off my glove. I moved my 2Bs fielding to 70 and he had + 11 from gear. He still dropped everything. Is this a bug or am I suppose to press a button at a specific time. I have tried hitting different buttons and not had luck. I have made 4 different players and they have all had the same issue. Any ideas on how I can solve this? Thanks.Comment

The game is not about being perfect on every pitch, that wouldn't be realistic. It's a sim after all, it's not arcade baseball where you just press a button and the game does the rest.
Also what Bcruise said is spon on.Comment

Re: MLB 15: The Show Q & A Thread
Is there a slider to turn down the amount of broken bats during a game? I've had 4 this game, and 2 the last game. It's insane.
Who's making these bats?!Comment

Re: MLB 15: The Show Q & A Thread
Just make sure that you have the Matt Vasgersian slider in the AUDIO section up.
His voice slider also controls the radio show announcers voice.
I play with just the ballpark sounds in game....so all the announcers are down to 0....and I wasn't hearing it. Putting Matt V. up fixed it.
