Re: MLB 15: The Show Impressions Thread (Impressions Only!)
Nope.
Since the beginning of time()..anything about a created/generated player could be edited at any time....either when creating the roster or at any time mid franchise/season.(not sure about RTTS)
Even players you guys added in updates through the year were fully editable.(we used them to make service time players)

Yeah. I've always been able to change my RttS player's look. Used to love going beard when I got on a hot streak.Comment

Re: MLB 15: The Show Impressions Thread (Impressions Only!)
Ok I also just noticed that if you have a runner on first sometimes after a pitch he trots half way to second like it's a foul ball. Catcher should be throwing to first every time
Edit. I went into replay and I think the game thought it was a foul tip but the ball was no where near the bat. I've noticed it a few times. Gonna keep my eye on that.Last edited by CujoMatty; 03-31-2015, 12:30 AM.2016 NLL Champion Saskatchewan Rush

Fielding is vastly improved. Right now it's my number 1 favorite thing about the game. It just feels smooth, real, and looks amazing.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

Menus are slick. Fielding is buttery smooth. The feel, something you can't experience from livestreams or impressions, is very much improved over 14. The game feels very nice in my hands.Comment

Re: MLB 15: The Show Impressions Thread (Impressions Only!)
I've only played one full game, but a few quick impressions:
- as everyone else said, the lighting is a thing of beauty and really makes the graphics stand out.
- cpu AI seems much better. I didn't see any "weird" logic in the game I played. I lost 11-5 to the red sox on default All-star and never really threatened to make a comeback after the fourth inning. I actually enjoyed that.
- hitting physics seem vastly improved. I got jammed on an inside fastball and promptly hit a pop up. Next batter got another inside fastball but I got around on this one and hit a hard grounder into the hole for a knock. The ball off the bat physics seem much improved and it actually feels like where and when you swing and make contact directly correlates to how hard and to where the ball is hit.Comment

Re: MLB 15: The Show Impressions Thread (Impressions Only!)
So far so good. I played 2 (exhibition) games against the Cubs. Lost the first 2-1 in 14 innings, but ran it back real quick (re: restarted), and won the 2nd 10-3. Couldn't hit Lester for **** in the 1st, he didn't even get thru 5 in the 2nd. I'm using Dynamic Difficulty (tried out Directional Hitting, and old faithful Meter Pitching), so take it for what it's worth, but I hit 5 gappers in the 2nd game, 3 alone with Gomez (all to Left-Center), resulting in 2 doubles and a triple (again, to LCF!!! I don't think I saw that at all in any other Show game.). Hit a 3-run bomb with Aramis, and a 2-run no-doubter with Lucroy (with Matty V. even copying Ueck's HR call (get up, Get Up, Get Outta HERE, GONE!! Nice touch.).
Like previous years, against the CPU, you really have to be careful coming off an inning in which you scored runs. The inning in which Aramis hit the 3-run HR resulted in 4 runs (all with 2-out by the way). I knew what to expect, and couldn't ****ing stop it. I was very focused on making pitches (and it was the top of the order), got the first 2 outs, then a walk to Rizzo, Soler hits a single (AFTER I got squeezed on what shoulda been a beautiful strike 3, which really irritated me when...), Montero hits a 1-2 pitch off the RF foul pole. Went from 5-0 with 2 outs to 5-3. So yeah, reallly gotta focus in shutdown innings.
Saw 2 warps, one where I hit a base hit to the right of the CF. He was a bit lackadaisical, and in order to get in front of the ball (which he very well should've, and did), he did like a zoom animation before it got past him. Also, the other included Lester hitting. He hit a ball out in front of the plate, and I threw him out by plenty. He ran the play out though, and his last 2 steps were ignored as he kind of glided through first base.
Other than that, hey, it's The Show. Plays like butter (rock solid framerate for me so far), and looks pretty damn good (the lighting really is beautiful). I played a night game, and it started out with the sun still up, and the shadows change as the sun moves. Of course we've heard and seen it in the streams, but to see it happen on my TV is dope. Lohse looked good, and even though I'm not one of THOSE guys, I must say that the added accessories is a nice touch. The batting gloves and shoes are especially noticeable on batters at the plate. Only 2 games in, but that's what I got.Comment

Re: MLB 15: The Show Impressions Thread (Impressions Only!)
1) So far I've just been visiting some of the old and new Minor League stadiums in some fast play Spring Training games where I have been fast forwarding through the games to only play the 9th inning until I get to the last week of Spring Training. But I have to say the Minor League stadiums look fantastic. Looking forward to opening day next week when I get to play in the Big League stadiums.
2) Plus I like the new sliding animations at home plate.
3) As a Rockies fan, I am happy to see they have updated Center Fielder Charlie Blackmon's fury "definitely not shaved" face.Comment

I agree with those that say the game feels "smooth". It's super smooth and just feels so familiar, but fresh at the same time. Playing a day game at Safeco right now, and the lighting is incredible. It really gives a sense of atmosphere and realism. Seeing Taijuan Walker walk off the field and the light reflecting from either the grass, or the Mariners' emerald jersey is just amazing looking. Very impressed so far! Great work to everyone at SD Studios.Comment

Re: MLB 15: The Show Impressions Thread (Impressions Only!)
Don't know if this was mentioned, but the animations seemed to be cranked up a bit. I love how snappier everything seems. I've also had more hit varieties in three games than I can remember on 14.
The ball physics are very well done, playing defense is a joy. You guys need to take a cycle off, 8 months isn't enough time to enjoy this work of art.Florida State Seminoles
