And in theory because face scans are done in ST unless they get him in the next couple of days isn't it possible to not be in next years game as well?

Pretty much, plus they don't patch this type of stuff in. The only way to get McCutchen without dreads in 15 would be if someone re-creates him from scratch. Unless SCEA knew this beforehand.

As for next year (This is just me guessing) they already have his face scan on file it would just be them removing his dreads and IDK if that is something they can do or not. Maybe Ramone can chime in?

The hair is hand drawn so it shouldn't be an issue for '16.

Rickie Weeks cut off his dreads too, should be in '16 as well.

Andrew McCutchen has been one of the games biggest ambassadors over the past couple of years. Judging by Ramone's comment, it'll be patched in this year or be fixed for next year. No way they leave him with dreads for the games next iteration.
