Re: How Has Your MLB 15 The Show Online Experience Been?
at the 36:34 part of this video, this was said:
“We are defiantly making strides in online. Last year was our first year with a brand new paradigm we were not happy with where online was and we have been working all year long HARD hours improving online and making it better. What you’re going to see is less latency our batting and pitching is really close to offline almost 1 to 1 we cannot wait for everyone to try it”
I appreciate the "work" and trying to do what is right, but its very clearly not fixed. Improved? A tad. Last year in twelve games, I was happy to complete maybe 1 before the "blue screen" would pop up OR yet another freeze. I dont get that blue screen anymore, just straight up freezes and a game of chicken to see who will quit first so neither of us get a loss. There is something REALLY wrong with that. I should be happy that only half of my games are freezing.Comment

Re: How Has Your MLB 15 The Show Online Experience Been?
Things everybody in this thread needs to know:
1. Your experience online is 99% dependent on latency, not bandwidth. You can have Gigabit speeds (i.e. Google Fiber) but without good latency, timing will be off on everything.
2. Wired connections will ALWAYS be better than wireless connections. Don't expect anything playable on a wireless connection - latency over wireless is nowhere near as fast or consistent as a wired connection. This is also why playing the Show remotely on Vita isn't ideal.
3. Sometimes you can have good latency, but if you get into matchmaking at odd times, it's possible the closest opponent geographically is a great distance away and thus your latency suffers.
TLDR; Latency is important, m'kay?

My main concern is coming from game freezes.Comment

Re: How Has Your MLB 15 The Show Online Experience Been?
No freezing problems or anything today, still annoyed I took a loss because I was up 6-2 but it froze and I played the waiting game but after 40 minutes I had to leave so other guy gets win, I get the L.
Overall, game is way better than previous years, and its only the first few days, which in previous years were always the worst the game has ran.Comment

Re: How Has Your MLB 15 The Show Online Experience Been?
Overall, online play is MUCH better than last year already. I've played 7 games and had only one freeze up on what was clearly a glitch. There is an annoying bug in DD that won't let me and many others add our created players to our "squad." It seems to be the most-reported bug so far.
Online experience so far: B+ (A- once DD error is fixed)
Compared to last year: AComment

Re: How Has Your MLB 15 The Show Online Experience Been?
The actual online play is better than last year. My issue is with the servers.
Successfully played two games, one won and one lost, and they are recorded. However, two games in Diamond Dynasty since then were not recorded.
One I was losing and we finished the game. When I got back to the menu it said I couldn't connect to the servers and that game is lost forever. I think I got caught in 3AM maintenance that I didn't know about (just got the message right now lol).
I played extra innings in Diamond Dynasty just now and it told me that my game would be put into a queue for processing, and that if it was a friendly quit, it would be discarded.Comment

Re: How Has Your MLB 15 The Show Online Experience Been?
just had a game in DD where I couldn't tell what was happening in the outfield only on offense though. got thrown out a few times bc it looked like it was a double in the gap but it was really caught. then my game crashed in the 8th when i was up 4-2only game where i had a problem so far about 15 games in.
I literally love Jose Altuve.Comment

Re: How Has Your MLB 15 The Show Online Experience Been?
Im still experiencing freezes (mainly after walks) online, although it's happened post pitch or during a transition scene a couple times too. In general gameplay doesnt seem too laggy at all aside from this problem. Sometimes i finish games, others i dont. My success rate of finishing games is probably only 55-65%. Kinda killing my W-L record having to abandon games (some ive been winning) although I never really care too much about that stuff. I just want to finish the games, and enjoy playing a human opponent from time to time. The ones I've finished have been a blast!!! After a blown save by Chapman I lost on a Matt Kemp walkoff last night in the 12th inning. 13 pitchers used between us!!! Nuts.
I have wired LAN setup, NAT type 2, optimized my dns...I dont think it's my internet. Who knows? There doesnt seem to be many complaints from others. Must be on my end somehow. Hope I, or SCEA, comes up with a fix soon. Cuz when it works it's fun sports gaming!Comment

Re: How Has Your MLB 15 The Show Online Experience Been?
Played two games against a friend today and I had no issues. No lag when hitting or pitching, which is a big change from when I got the game last year. I also managed to get up 10 runs in the 4th inning and had the mercy rule called. First time that I've seen that lol.
