Re: MLB 15 trade discussion thread
Regardless of health, Preller's whole goal is too keep the pitching staff in tact.
Andrus also just signed a 8 year 120 million contract and has had 2 sub par offensive years in a row now.
Despaigne would be the pitcher in the trade, probably not CashnerComment

Re: MLB 15 trade discussion thread
I found this interesting piece. Whats your take on it AC?
"If the Pirates have money to spend at the trade deadline this year, they could target an ace pitcher, writes Travis Sawchik of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. The payroll is cheap thanks to a number of young players and team friendly extensions. That could make Cole Hamels a potential fit. He, like Andrew McCutchen, has four years remaining on his contract. My thought: it’s at least conceivable that the Phillies would take on a large portion of his contract for the right prospects. To be clear, this is not to say that the Pirates have inquired about Hamels, only that a fit might exist."Comment

Phillies would love to get Glasnow, and would eat some serious dough for him. Pirates are certainly a fit for Hamels, it just depends on the Pirates willingness to meet the Phillies outrageous demands.Red Sox: 2018 World Series Champions!!!

Re: MLB 15 trade discussion thread
The cash they eat depends on which prospects they want. The math is pretty easy with the right sites, it's late now but if someone mentions a potential package i'll post the math evaluating it"Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Re: MLB 15 trade discussion thread
I don't think the pirates would trade glasnow for hamels...they're really counting on getting at least 2 quality mlb pitchers out of glasnow/taillon/kinghamComment

It depends on how bad they want to win. They could overpay for Hamels if he is playing well and they eat a lot of his contractComment

Re: MLB 15 trade discussion thread
Thinking of some trades for an A's franchise, looking for some input or other options to get Oakland one or two middle of the order bats...
Would Oakland get close to getting Ryan Zimmerman with coco and a pitcher like pomerzan? Especially since the Nat's need some outfield help with injuries?
Or since yanks have a lot of catcher depth what would it take to get McCann to Oakland?Comment

Re: MLB 15 trade discussion thread
Speaking to the second point, Yankees aren't getting rid of McCann. The only moving he'll ever do is to first base once Torrens is ready to catch.Thinking of some trades for an A's franchise, looking for some input or other options to get Oakland one or two middle of the order bats...

Re: MLB 15 trade discussion thread
For Zimmeran you would need to give up a lot more. I think McCann is much more doable though. Maybe try Graveman and Pomeranz for McCann?Thinking of some trades for an A's franchise, looking for some input or other options to get Oakland one or two middle of the order bats...

So someone suggested to do a 3 way trade since the Padres do not have what it takes to get Tulo straight up.
This is just a start but I think these are the pieces that need to be there. Any ideas on what to shift around to make it plausible?
Rockies Get: Castro (CHC), Renfroe (SD), Liriano (SD), Spangenberg(SD) or Gyorko (SD), Lake (CHC).
Cubs Get: Hedges (SD), Benoit (SD) or Quackenbush (SD), Morrow (SD) or Despaigne (SD), Venable (SD), Axford (COL).
Padres Get: Tulo (COL), Morneau (COL).
Colorado can always throw in some useless minor league players too make sure they have room.
Guys I think can also be thrown in but I'm not sure where are: Maurer (SD), Medica (SD), Alonso (SD), Franchy Cordero (SD), Chacin (COL), Stubbs (COL), Brothers (COL), LaStella (CHC), Olt (CHC), Almora (CHC).Comment

Re: MLB 15 trade discussion thread
Going to start a Rockies franchise when rosters drop.
Looking at roster at moment it's clear I need some pitching, what would be a decent trade to get some? Pretty willing to let anyone go including tuloComment

I suspect Tulo goes to STL at the break and the store should be open with the exception of Wainwright and Wacca (a deal headlined by Martinez ++). NYM will also be in on the bidding and would easily include Wheeler ++ (unless you're playing injuries).
I think any trade involving Cargo will take a 3rd team but it wouldn't surprise me to see BAL or TOR in the mix for him.
A bit vague but it gives you a starting point to start shopping."for love of the game" - B. ChapelComment

Cubs get DESTROYED on this deal and Padres win it easily.
The Cardinals beat all of these packages. Easily."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment
