Re: Anyone else playing with the commentary off?
I don't really think the commentary is that bad in this game. Could it be better? Yes but really commentary is like the most unrealistic part in all sports games because to repetitive and not even emotion. But like ever sport game is like that and I don't think this game is any worse then the another sports games out there when it comes to that. The 2 things they show needs to improve the most is commentary and franchise mode but that is just because ever thing else is like really good/amazing where franchise mode and commentary are just good.Comment

Re: Anyone else playing with the commentary off?
I hardly ever use the commentary I never have I just enjoy the sounds of the ballpark. I will maybe turn it on a few games just for something different. I will say I had it on for one game so far and did hear a few different lines..."Baseball is Life"

Smallville, I couldn't disagree more, I've heard many baseball games over the years that had great, and good emotion commentary. Jon Miller from 2k4 to 2k8 was great, All-star baseball was pretty good, wsb 2k3, mlb slugfest, and that's just off the top of my head.1458, not counting playoffs, that's the number of games in a row I haven't missed! For 16, I vote they get Harry Doyle and his chatty sidekick Monte.
In all seriousness it does get old but that's how it is with the commentary of all sports games.Comment

Re: Anyone else playing with the commentary off?
I turn it off mainly because I enjoy the feel of being on the field while I am playing. I just love the natural sounds of the field of play and the fans surrounding the stadium.
Not to mention it's also essential when recording my games so I can then do my own commentary on the edits.Comment

Re: Anyone else playing with the commentary off?
It's really disappointing that they didn't bother to change pretty much anything in the commentary style and team. It's just bland as heck.
I wish they'd add the Spanish commentary. At least it's much more exciting that the bored announcers that we have now.Comment

Re: Anyone else playing with the commentary off?
I usually leave it on for a week or two. I shut it off on night one when I heard the "fans sitting on their hands" comment around the 6th inning of a 1-0 game. Annoyed me enough last year and I hated hearing it again.Comment

Re: Anyone else playing with the commentary off?
I think the sound as a whole needs refreshing.
I mean MLB 2k12 still has superior sound design across the board IMO. Commentary was far superior, and ambient sound had a much richer quality to it than the Show currently features. Definitely time for an overhaul and some fresh voices.Cubs | Bulls | Dolphins | 'Noles

Re: Anyone else playing with the commentary off?
I must say, while it's nice we finally have Matt saying counts on almost every pitch, it's time for him to go, and I don't want to hear about it costing money and time to record a new voice. 2k did it from 8 to 9. Just imagine what can be done with commentary with the power of the ps4!1458, not counting playoffs, that's the number of games in a row I haven't missed! Go Yanks!Comment

It would be nice if there were commentary packs. I would pay for Jon Miller or Vin Scully. Vasgersian is fine he has a pleasing cadence it's just been the same lines for almost a decade.
It could be worse though. We could have Joe Buck and Harold Reynolds.
