Re: Pure analog...
Pretty sure based on his previous comments that this was to be expected before the change was made and that those of you who don't like it are in the vast minority.
I feel bad for you guys, but the decision wasn't just a random choice...Comment

Re: Pure analog...
MLB2k (on PC) got me into baseball and as a baseball newcomer I actually enjoyed those games a lot, always used analogcontrols there too and I have to admit that I somehow start to like the (strictly personal) retro feel of the new controls. If now SCEA added mybe loved MLB2k analog pitching it would be just amazing.
damn, I would want to see that series on PS4&XboneLast edited by geisterhome; 04-03-2015, 01:28 AM.Spending time with Jesus!

Re: Pure analog...
This was to be expected? An outrage from the community whos the true hardcore of this game?. The ones that actually played baseball beyond a video game and appreciated the sorta close as you can get to it with a controller. Watching those dev videos pre release and hinting or said that some of you actually played baseball for a while must of not been in that meeting where they decided to take out pure analog. Shame on you Sony for making this an arcade game now...you stress simulation? I think not!Comment

Re: Pure analog...
Ok guys, I have to admit I start to like the new anlog hitting controls. It's a nice change, on the other hand of course it's always been a strong side of The Show not to remove features..Spending time with Jesus!

Re: Pure analog...
See, there will be some people who start to "like it", but that's besides the point. It's not like they changed something around, they REMOVED the whole essence of pure analog.
As far as I'm concerned, liking the new pure analog controls is the same as liking plain vanilla timing hitting. Because, well, that's what the new Pure Analog is, timing but with a flick up of the stick rather than pressing X.
The biggest complainers are those, like me, who have used Pure Analog for years, since the Show introduced it and touted it as a great new feature. It was challenging while getting as close as you could to a bat swing mechanic with a controller. The challenging aspect is gone, and of course it's also less like the mechanics of loading up and swinging.Comment

Re: Pure analog...
By vast minority, is he referring to those of us who were fans of pure analog in the past or overall players of the Show?
I would be surprised if it was the former because this change pretty much ruins everything that was so great about the old system. It is so counter to everything they billed the system as that I can't even bring myself to call it Pure Analog anymore. Yeah, you got Axl Rose and you call yourselves Guns N Roses but you are NOT Guns N Roses.
If he was referring to latter then I think they are treading into dangerous territory for hardcore fans of the series where they just quantitatively assess what is and what isn't important. This type of thinking is what hurt the Madden series for years when presentation elements were ignored because most Madden gamers skip through the intros, cutscenes, halftime, etc. because they were so focused on the online players, who were the vast majority. Offline single player fans got very little love until recently.
I would almost be somewhat comforted if it was some random choice instead. Manage Only Mode isn't used by a vast majority of players so maybe that is next to go. Most people skip through the pre-game presentation after the first few weeks so that could be on the chopping block. Only a vast minority of players are interested in watching the highlight reels at the end of games so maybe....oh wait, they did cut that!
I just can't find any reason to shelve the old system entirely. Is there any reason these two systems can't co-exist with a simple stride on/off option?Comment

Re: Pure analog...
Well by this change was to be expected, you only are referring to a thread that immediately broke in February when just a Hint of a change was announced and then later confirmed subsequently in that very thread. This change was almost impossible to expect.
There was never a hint from anyone, such a harsh change was in the cards, until it was hinted in that first live stream. Even a person critically observant finds this change off the Richter on what might have been actually expected.Red LegendComment

Don't take me as being impartial one way or the other, I agree it was strange to take it out and do feel for those affected by it.
Was just posting that to show to those that didn't see the thread that this was known before release.Comment
