I just hope the day comes, whether it be in a patch or more probably in MLB 16 The Show, where SCEA adds Pure Analog back in and apologizes for removing it. I think the amount of disillusioned fans who are highly disappointed in the removal of Pure Analog is greater than SCEA thinks it is. Again, it makes no sense to have removed it unless it was impossible to retain that mechanism while adding in the new directional thing. I have no idea, but would love an accurate and truthful explanation from SCEA on why they removed it.

Re: Pure analog...
I don't have the game and don't want to buy it until I try the new analog first but from the responses in this thread I'm not confident I'll be buying this years version. I'm really curious what drove this change. Do they collect metrics on our play styles when we play or was this some random focus/usability testing. If it was metrics what exactly did those metrics show?Comment

Re: Pure analog...
This is so disappointing..i have the show sitting in my PS4 but i simply have no desire to turn it on because of this. If Sony wants to sit on their lazy butts and not fix this we've got to find a way to modify sliders where we can still use full up and down for our timing while not having to hit 5 HRs a game and still have a variety of hits.Comment

Re: Pure analog...
I abosutrly love Zone Plus Analog hitting. I'm definitely returning the game because it's pointless having it since they made that change. It was the ony reason I started playing The Show (that and 2k was just horrible) and it'll be the reason I refuse to play it anymore. Everything this game has to offer this year is great but I highly doubt I would buy another SCEA baseball game if this is how they have planned the foreseeable future. I cannot enjoy playing this baseball game anymoreComment

They cited that the data they collected showed that this it was not used much.Comment

Re: Pure analog...
I got to play a couple of games at a friend's place and all it cost me was some Popeye's chicken...
Surprisingly I was able to pick up the new analog controls rather quickly. I got 11 his in my first game, hitting 2 home runs with Beltran and another with Headley. Second game did not go my way and was dominated by David Price.
Then I came home and played a couple of innings of 14 and I can never go back to 15. Yes, I was impressed with new lighting and fielding controls. Love the new cutoff system as well. But those changes aren't nearly enough to offset the loss of pure analog. Even hitting those home runs felt so much less engaging. Got to the end of the game and realized they removed the highlight reel too.
I hope they reconsider pure analog for 16 but I'm going to pass on this year.Comment

Re: Pure analog...
Before the game came out, I heard a streamer on Twitch mention that they simplified the pure analog batting controls, but I didn't think much of it. I thought the old way would still be an option, but if I knew it wouldn't be, I probably would have just stuck with 14. I was leaning towards that anyways, cause I pretty much took a break from all things baseball last year, so I didn't really get my moneys worth out of 14.
I don't see why the old way can't be patched back in. It's already there, but only for power swing.Comment

And it's not really already there, because power swing still doesn't incorporate stride timing. Just the pull back part if I'm understanding correctly. Motion but without having to time the stride.
There have been multiple double digit page threads on people disappointed. I'm not telling the dev team how to do their job, they're amazing, but I hope it at least gets discussed based on the feedback.Last edited by supervelous; 04-01-2015, 07:11 PM.Comment

Re: Pure analog...
I just wanted to add my name to the list of people extremely disappointed by the lack of pure analog hitting control. Ya know, in case someone reads this for feedback. There's already a simple hitting option where you just press a button, why would you turn analog into essentially the same thing? Hate this move.Comment

That streamer could have been me haha, I streamed since Friday before release almost non-stop and talked about it all the time.

Re: Pure analog...
This new 'pure' analog is soul sucking, I am seriously in disbelief that they removed the most realistic hitting option from this game (no disrespect to the other options but pressing a button loses its fun after a while).
My timing is way off with this new analog hitting and it just doesn't feel right/authentic.
Honestly why couldn't they have both of these options in the game?Comment

Re: Pure analog...
Once in awhile it sucks to have a digital version..can't get my money back. I wish I had found out sooner, I guess that's on me. The game has gone from hours a day to nothing else to play, nothing good on TV..well s*** I guess I'll play MLB the Show 15..Favorites:
