Obviously that would make it harder but then that diminishes the point of building a team which I've always thought was the best part of franchise mode. And since its me and my brother were kind of having a competition to see who can do better. There's no way that it should be this easy to make such good teams especially because neither of us signed any free agents and we traded for almost all of these players in the first year with terrible players on the rosters we inherited.

Then stop ripping off the CPU via trade. Go to the trade thread on here and make a rule that the trade you want to push through needs to be approved by a person in that thread.

The game has limitations with logic, don't exploit it. You guys built powerhouse teams by ripping off the CPU. It is unfortunate there isn't some type of trade difficulty slider. It's like trading on Rookie

The Marlins begin their postseason journey by facing the Rockies at home in the NLDS. The Rockies have given the Marlins problems during the regular season and feature a tough pitching staff.

Here's how the Marlins' two home games went.

Game 1:

In game one, it was Matt Wisler, at 24-year-old with plenty of talent, against Aaron Sanchez, a 25-year-old.

In this battle of young aces-in-making, both pitched up to their top form. Wisler was beguiling the Marlins hitters all day long, at first inducing routine flies and then weak grounders. He made just one mistake. He left a fastball up to Carlos Santana, and he turned into a home run.

That was the only hit for the Marlins through four innings. They worked a few walks, but that's it in Wisler's six innings before being lifted for a pinch hitter.

Aaron Sanchez wasn't effecient, but he fought through six tough innings. The Rockies made him use 109 pitches through 6 1/3 innings of work, drawing 2 walks and striking out 7 times, before putting a man on second.

Dominic Leone came in and pitched 1 2/3 innings of nearly perfect relief, striking out four batters. Paco Rodriguez picked up the save in a 1-0 victory.

Game 2:

In Game 2, it was Damian Boeve's turn to take the hill. The rookie's opponent would be the veteran Jon Lester.

The Marlins grabbed an early lead on a Carlos Gonzalez home run to start the scoring. They put more pressure on as Chris Taylor singled, stole second, and advanced to third on a wild pitch and scored on Boeve nearly parking one down the left field line - but the rookie will have to settle for a sac fly instead of his first postseason home run. Marlins led 2-0.

The Rockies struck back in the 4th. Wilin Rosario caught up to a Boeve slider and smacked it off the foul pole.

Boeve wasn't phased, though. He picked up back-to-back strikeouts, giving him a staggering 10 through just four innings.

Then he smacked a double to start the home 5th, and was followed by Santana again going out of the park to put the Marlins up 4-1. The Marlins scored a couple more to make it 6-1 when all was done.

That's where it would end as Boeve threw 8 dominant innings and Collins took the 9th to finish it.

Boeve's final line: 8 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 0 BB, 15 K

With the top two pitchers doing their job, attention turns to what's been the underbelly of the rotation. If the injuries to Fernandez and Heaney show up, it probably will be here.

Henderson Alvarez will try to keep it going, but will have to do so in Coors Field, not likely an easy task.

Well through work and life I have finally finished my first regular season in a baseball game (with a play one Sim three method) My user team is the Astros and we have made the playoffs! We finished second in the AL West with a record of 91-71 and will be facing our division rival Oakland (89-73) in the wild card. Oakland won the season series 10 games to 9. Here's how the playoffs look.

Well that was short lived. Dallas Kuchel didn't have it right from the start. He allowed 6 runs, and 9 hits in just 4.2 innings. The bull pen came in and shut down the A'S but it was to little to late as we were only able to manage 5 runs (on 4 HR'S). Both teams ended the game with 11 hits but Oakland came out victorious and advances to the Divisional round to face another division opponent the Seattle Mariners.

The Washington Nationals went on to beat the Detroit Tigers in the world series 4-1. Bryce Harper won the world series MVP hitting .381 with 3 HR and 7 RBI. Guess it's onto the offseason!

Well, one way to not worry about if your #3 pitcher can handle the playoff pressure is to give him a ton of runs.

That's what the Marlins did to finish the Rockies and move on to the NLCS.

The 3-4-5 trio of Davis-CarGo-Stanton all showed up in big ways to power the attack. Each of them hit a 3-run HR in the game with Gonzalez driving two out of the park. Between them, they combined for 10 RBI.

Stanton hit the biggest bomb, sending a baseball 456 feet.

In all, the production came mostly from 4 hitters in the lineup. Taylor went 4-for-6 in front of the big trio. Yelich, Solano, and Santana didn't do much. Only Cruz did anything in the rest of the lineup.

Alvarez was indeed less than impressive. He ended up giving up 5 runs in 7 innings of work. Luckily, it didn't matter, but it little to settle any fears. After all, this is the last of Coors Field the team will see this year.

The Marlins will face the Diamondbacks in the NLCS.

One thing that's always ticked me off about this game and that needs change dramatically is that when a pitcher is absolutely killed by a line drive comebacker, he just gets up and gets the out and is completely okay. When in reality, he's on the ground holding something if even conscious. So, what I've decided to do is if any of my pitchers get wrecked by a comebacker and aren't injured (which 99% of the time they're not) I will immediately take them out of the game and manually injure them after the game is over.

I recently did this with Carlos Torres and Bartolo Colon in my Mets franchise, which finally allowed me to bring up Syndergaard in early July. I couldn't bring him before because everyone was doing way too good to demote someone.

I'm sitting at 10 games over .500 near the end of July, but 2.5 games out of first now as the Nats have won 11 straight and 13 of 14 since the break.

Is it just me, or does the computer pick one guy on the other team to just rake. For the Yankees it's Chris Young, the Twins Tervor Plouffe, and the A's Billy Butler. They will have 90% of their teams hits against me (2.16 ERA). The most annoying thing is, they will hit 1-2 home runs every game. I was up 3-2 on the Twins with Aroldis Chapman (.24 ERA and 17/17 saves) pitching with 2 outs and 2 strikes. He throws a fastball that is on the green part of the meter and perfect timing, and Plouffe hits his 2nd homer of the game for the win. Irritating.........

Well its 2016 in my virtual Houston Astros world.

We opened up the season against the Oakland Athletics same match up that knocked us out of the playoffs last season Sonny Gray vs. Dallas Keuchel. Just like that wildcard match up it was a offensive battle from the get go as we posted 3 runs in the first thanks to a three run homer by the newly aquired Adrian Beltre. In the bottle of the first Keuchel continued his struggles allowing three hits and a run while only recording two outs before having to leave the game with a injury to his throwing arm.

In came Peter Shinjo to make his major league debut (listed as a closer) 22 years old 71 ovr with A potential. Even with his poor Stamina rating he came in and threw 3.2 solid innings striking out 5 while allowing 4 hits and no runs.

All in all we had to use five pitchers on opening day. We went into the 9th with a 5-3 lead. In came closer Luke Gregerson who was one of the top closers in the American League last season (53 saves). He ends up blowing the save but getting us into the 10th inning tied 5-5.

In the 10th Jake Marisnick hit his own three run homer to give us the 8-5 lead. Gregerson would shut the A'S down in the bottem of the inning and we won the opening game of the season 8-5.

Have to share the story of my starters over the last 5 days, and how unfair baseball can be, and how hard wins are to actually get.

Masahiro Tanaka, 1 earned run thru 6 innings, No decision.

Michael Pineda, 2 earned runs thru 6 innings, No decision.

CC Sabathia, 5 earned runs thru 4 1/3 innings, loss.

Ivan Nova, 0 earned runs thru 7 1/3 innings, no decision.

Nate Eovaldi, 7 earned runs thru 6 innings, win.

The guy who gave up the most runs gets the only win. That's baseball.

Well we had a winning record in May. But it wasnt pretty at all. Started off winning the first game of the month. Then lost 7 in a row with sweeps by Pittsburgh and Cincy. Made a lineup change and won our next 6. And finished the month going 8-7. 15-14 overall on the month and 26-28 for the year. 8 games behind Pittsburgh for 1st and 6.5 out of a WC spot.

Josh Johnson broke his hand on the 4th. Should be back by mid June. We called up Brent Suter to replace him. So far he is 2-2 with a 4.09 ERA. On the 12th Austin Wates and Mike Fiers were both placed on the DL. Wates pulled a hammy and Fiers took a ball off his face and broke his cheek. Called up Logan Schafer and Tyler Cravy to replace them. Schafer is just a bench guy he has 1 hit in 11 at bats. Cravy is starting and is 1-3 with a 3.98 ERA.

On the 19th we designated Johnathan Broxton for assignment and sent Neal Cotts to AAA. Brought up Jeremy Jeffress and Brandon Kintzler to replace them. Nothing special so far. Jeffress with a 5.06 ERA in 5 innings. Gave up 2 ER i nhsi first game that were my fault though. Kintzler has a 3.60 ERA.

Offense is alright. We are 5th in the league in AVG at .261. 4th in OBP at 3.25 and 15th in runs scored. Ryan Braun is still struggling with a .216 AVG. Beyer has started to struggle in AAA so it doesnt make sense to trade Braun and bring him up. And we arent hitting for much power so trading our hitter with the most HR would be stupid. Just gotta wait it out. Scooter Gennett has went a bit cold the last couple weeks. AVG down to .316 with a .381 OBP. Adam Lind is hitting .270 with 7 HR and 27 RBI. Khris Davis is hitting .267 with 7 HR and 22 RBI. Player of the month has to go to Luis Sardinas. In May he hit .358 (33/92) with a .438 OBP. He had is first 5 RBI game and was just a single shy of the cycle.

Oh pitching. Why must it hate me. Marco Estrada is the best starter for us right now. He is 3-4 with a 3.56 ERA. No one else (Not including guys on the DL) has an ERA under 3.92. Wily Peralta was moved to the pen. He is 3-3 with a 5.15 ERA. He may be sent down when Fiers or Jonson come back.

Bullpen is.. Okay.. It could be better. But im fine with where it is for now. Fernando Salas has a 2.77 ERA in 26 IP. Corey Knebel has a 3.07 ERA in 29.1 IP. Jim Henderson has been out best reliever. He has a 1.93 ERA in 28 IP. K-Rod has 17 saves and a 2.30 ERA. He is 4th on the all time saves list. 25 away from Lee Smith for 3rd. Which isnt out of the question for him to get this year. If he stays on this same pace he will have 51 by the end of the year and would need 165 more to catch Mariano Rivera. If he pitches till he is 40 he would need about 41 more a year. Would be hard. But not impossible.

AAA, Man is the pitching in Colorado Springs good right now. Johnny Crum (2nd round, 2015) is 4-5 with a 2.99 ERA. Diego Moreno (3rd round, 2015) is 3-1 with a 3.13 ERA in 37.1 IP. Best of all is Jackie Anthony. Our 2nd round pick in 2016. Between AA and AAA he is 7-2 with a 1.44 ERA. Called him up to AAA on the 14th after an injury. In 4 games he is 4-0 with a 0.86 ERA and a 0.80 WHIP. In May he is 5-0 with a 1.02 ERA. This kid is amazing right now.

Not much going on with the hitting prospects there. Austin Beyer is the best hitting .287 with 8 HR and 31 RBI.

AA, Offense is even worse in Biloxi. Tom Beckham is hitting .237. That upgrade to C potential looks lke it wont ever happen. Victor Roache not only cant hit for AVG like usual. He also has just 3 HR in 43 games.

Doug Imro our 1st round pick in 2016 is 3-5 with a 3.82 ERA. Has been pretty good the last few starts. Taylor Williams took over for Jackie Anthony when he went to AAA. He is 3-0 with a 1.44 ERA in 4 starts. Jorge Lopez is 5-5 with a 2.57 ERA in 73.2 IP.

The first two games against the Diamondbacks in the NLCS were intense.

In game 1, Hector Santiago continued to bring up fears about the 3rd and 4th starters in the postseason as he got knocked around. Santiago gave up 5 runs in 6 innings of work and had nothing working. A Goldschimdt 2-run HR was one of the key hits.

The Marlins battled back to make it 5-3, but the bullpen, which has also been an issue, gave up a couple more runs to make it 7-3 through seven innings.

The Marlins missed chances against Hudson, the Diamondbacks starter. Hudson managed just three strikeouts and gave up 9 hits in 7 innings, but the hits couldn't connect together to make runs score. The three home runs the Marlins hit were all solo home runs. The only other run came on a Carlos Gonzalez RBI single in the 4th.


In game 2, Aaron Sanchez looked shaky to start the game, but settled in nicely to ring up 9 strikeouts in 6 innings, allowing just 2 runs. The Marlins had a 3-2 lead thanks to home runs by Davis and Gonzalez.

Delabar pitched a scoreless 7th for the Marlins, but the bullpen and the defense let the team down. Nate Jones gave up the tying run, but looked to get out of the jam with minimal damage...until Matt Baldwin botched a routine fly to allow two runs to score.

That put the Diamondbacks up 5-3 and it looked to end that way as Addison Reed sought his second save in two games. However, the Marlins didn't quit. With 2 outs in the 9th, they squeezed out three straight walks from Santana, Cruz, and Stanton. Reed had thrown over 30 pitches and was lifted for Melancon.

Davis came up to the plate. Melancon and Davis battled to a 2-2 count and a six-pitch at bat. The seventh pitch was indeed lucky for Davis as he turned it around for a game-winning grand slam. The Marlins escaped with a 7-5 win to tie up the series.


As the series shifts to Arizona, it will be Damian Boeve (19-4, 2.76) looking for another phenomenal start against Randal Gonzalez (11-11, 3.34) in game 3. Judging by the performances by Alvarez in the NLDS and Santiago in game 1 of this series, this game could be pivotal to the Marlins success.
