Re: Throwing runners out at 1B from RF
I did it to Cano with Mark Trumbo. Was certainly surprised as I don't think I've pulled that off since MLB 12.Comment

The times I've seen it are from teams that are stacked two days after release, have hideous, lime green, pinstriped uniforms, and who run around after the play is over for no good reason.Comment

Re: Throwing runners out at 1B from RF
My 1b never covers the bag. In my twins franchise I threw it to Rizzo (trade) and had Cabrera beaten by 3 steps easy and he caught in right on the lip of the grass near the bag. He caught it on the lip, 3 steps before Cabrera ever touched 1st. Had Rizzo covered the bag, he'd been out easily. I never have seen them cover the bag this year or last.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

I've never done it but I'm sure you could playing the shift and having Big Papi running to 1st sure. I mean it takes the "right conditions" to make it happen.Comment

Re: Throwing runners out at 1B from RF
That's awesome that it's in.
In MLB13 I'm never able to do it. My perfect throw always seems to change from a green indicator of throw power to a yellow, and the 1B either gets pulled off the bag, or it just doesn't get there in timeComment

Re: Throwing runners out at 1B from RF
Would the firstbaseman even bother to cover first IRL?
Even so, an occasional out, with a slow batter, is tolerable.
In some cases, the rightfielder is actually closer to first than a thirdbaseman.
However, if LEFTfielders start throwing out batters at firstT-BONE.

Re: Throwing runners out at 1B from RF
To those who have done it, are you tagging them out when they round the bag, or are your 1st basemen actually covering the bag? I've thrown it and tagged them on their turn, but I've never had a single instance where my 1st basemen caught the ball with a foot on the bag.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”
