They basically had it sorted out prior to the season.

It was really pretty silly of SCEA to take the whole thing out of the game. The rooftop owners were never going to go after a freaking video game.

The whole case was about the rooftop views being obstructed by the signs. Were they afraid the virtual rooftop owners were going to sue them?

Just a shame that, since they had many of the additions in, they couldn't have had updated Wrigley on-disc but unavailable, and then "unlocked" if and when the lawsuits would have (and have since, as we know) been dropped.

They were forced due to legal reasons.

Off topic but EA thought they could get away with using College Athletes likeness' and how did that turn out? They are going have pay a **** ton of money to each plaintiff in that lawsuit. Plus their attorneys fees. Better safe than sorry.

I know the legal situation pretty well.

There would be no reason at all for SCEA to get sued by anyone.

                This is different.

You are talking about an imaginary stadium. The rooftop owners were suing the Cubs for a contract breach since they are now blocking the rooftop views.

The rooftops dont have a contract that ensures rights to view games from the imaginary rooftops at an imaginary Wrigley Field.

And its not like SCEA was making an effort to make the stadium more accurate for the beginning of the season. That would've required no bleachers at all. And the jumbotron was up on Opening Night.

I guess I just dont see why the signs were removed from the game.

                An imaginary lawsuit? lol

I don't know why SCEA spends any money on a legal department...when they can get the answer right here for free...

Actually....they can come to O.S. for a complete list of "easy fixes"!

Ok, what would the rooftop owners be able to sue SCEA for?

I mean, the Cubs weren't even successfully sued for putting up real life signs at Wrigley.

Who ever said it was the rooftop owners? It could be the MLB. They could tell SCEA to go pound sand when the licensing contract is up. This is one reason why we don't have a true owner mode with expansion and relocation yet. Because the MLB didn't want it in their game. Look EA and MVP. Right after they implemented Owner Mode they lost the license.

Why wouldn't MLB want it in the game? The real life Cubs have at their real life stadium

Why the hell does it matter? Ramone gave us the reason it wasn't in the game. You think he is lying then so be it. It's not in game. Probably won't be added this year. So what's the point in talking about it anymore?
