I don't know how it would matter but are you using classic or default base running, and are you playing online or against the computer?

Also, your base running and sliding settings in the option menu must be set to assist, not auto. Everyone's playing the same game so for everyone to not be having the same results means that something isn't set right.

I'm using default baserunning and the baserunning and sliding decisions are set to Assist

It seems that at least once per my baserunner will slide into 3rd on a gap shot, and he'll just stay at 3rd(it's like the game ignores my baserunning commands).
Below are my baserunning settings, I only play franchise mode.

Baserunning decisions: Assist
Sliding decisions: Assist
Baserunning interface: default

Personally I can't speak for default baserunning, I use classic. I'm not sure if this makes a difference or not but I've never had the unwanted base sliding problem. I've never played in an offline franchise either and it may be that playing against the computer is what causes this.
What's weird for me is that my guys seem to want o keep going past the base (second or third), unless I tell them to slide in to it, causing them to stop.

I've never bothered to try classic baserunning, I've always just used the default option. I'm going to try classic and see what happens. I'll keep ya posted.

i didn't have this problem until the last patch. then after the last patch it began happening all the time, along with other bugs that i haven't seen before. i deleted the patches then reinstalled.....problem solved. baserunning is smooth and haven't experienced any bugs since
