Didnt Brian McCann try to bunt for a hit the other day in an attempt to break up a no-hitter?

I play OC Allstar default and the only one who I see bunting is the pitcher in a normal sac situation ? other than that I saw nothing ....

Joe Mauer did a suicide squeeze in a game last night with the bases loaded for the win. I was so surprised to see that because in all of my years playing the show, I've never witnessed the CPU do that. I've gone through this thread and hopefully they can tone down the frequency of the bunting.

Yea I have no issues with the CPU doing the suicide squeezes. It's a nice addition. It's just bunting needs to be fixed.

I rely heavily on attributes. I love em. Eat em, drink em, breathe em. And when I see a player do a suicide squeeze when the game is on the line and he has like 10 in bunting, it makes me crazy.

I pitch a 97 mph fastball up in the zone, and the guy with 10 in bunting, bunts it down the 1st base line perfectly out of reach so the guy from 3rd gets home and gets the walkoff win. It wasn't a popup bunt hit, it wasn't even a strong chopper that bounced hard on the ground. It was a perfect bunt on the line.

How can that even happen with a 97mph 4-seamer up in the zone?

I almost put my fist through the wall. I had to go outside and breathe fresh air for 10 minutes.

Just had the Pads do back to back suicide squeezes to beat me in the 9th not good!!

Well I spoke to soon lol ... SD ended up scoring 3 in top of 9th to take a 7-6 lead on me but I tied the game7-7 and then with two out Crawford hit his second hr of the game a 2 run shot ... a walk off and I won the game 9-7 scoring 3 in the bottom of the 9th ... it sucked they squeezed twice in a row but I got some payback

This thread reminds of the game a few years ago where Gerald Laird(of all people) would try and drag bunt almost everytime he came up. Guess things haven't changed much. and don't get me started on the amount of squeezes in the game.

You do realize that bunting is pretty easy in real life too, right?

Like, most players above the high school level can get bunts down.

                  Re: CPU bunting to much?

I saw 4 consecutive bunts in a CPU vs CPU game (Tigers vs. Twins) last night. Bases were loaded with no one out. Next two batters had bunt hits (on suicide squeeze attempts). Then the next two had suicide squeezes also but were barely thrown out at first.

That wacky inning pretty much showcased how broken bunts are in this game. They're definitely way too easy to pull off.

Not against a 97mph 4-seamer up in the zone.

Amount of suicide or regular squeeze plays I've seen in my life watching the game: less than a handful.
Amount of suicide or regular squeeze plays I've seen in my current MLB 15 franny 6 games in: 6.

                        Re: CPU bunting to much?

I was just about to make a thread about this.

I play 3B in RTTS, and i find myself playing in on the cut of the grass most of the time because of all the bunts.

Ive seen players bunt with 2 strikes and 2 outs.

Ive seen players like Miguel Cabrera bunt with a runner on first and one out. Granted he did move the runner up, but you would never ever see miggy bunt in a real life game.

Also seen jose abreu bunt for no reason. Actually just paused a game I was playing to write this because I watched Goldschmidt bunt with 2 outs for no reason....

Also seen Pujols lay a bunt down and get thrown out easily...

The amount of bunts i see, and the bunts i see from players that would never lay down a bunt in a real game make me shake my head.

Goldy bunting???? hahaha that i gotta see

The sooner people realize and accept that bunting is currently an issue in this year's edition of MLB The Show, the faster it will get tuned. It doesn't even need to be fixed, just TUNED. Tune it down some. Goldy and Miggy should never be bunting. EVER.

Agreed. Don't mind seeing some bunts, but only in the right situations with the right players at the plate.

I think suicide squeezes do need to be toned down. I've seen consecutive squeezes, I've had Hanley Ramirez(Bos cleanup) squeezed on me just now in the 6th.

I have seen in about 20 games....8 or 9 squeezes.

What's weird is I've seen maybe 1 or 2 in the 50 games I've played.

I play on Hall of Fame if that matters.

I don't even see the cpu trying to bunt for hits all that much, outside of your typical speedy guys (Denard Span, Billy Hamilton, etc..) And attempted bunts for hits hasn't been a regular occurence either. I can go a whole series or two without seeing one and then see 3 or 4 in the next series.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(
