Re: Does pitch speed seem a bit faster?

I don't know the pitch speed is actually faster (I bet not really, and even if it has gotten faster, it is not significantly so), but I feel there has been some adjustment(s) in timing window (and PCI) to make it harder to catch up to fastball up and/or in.

I think it's good that hitting has been made tighter. Last couple years, way too many people were playing on Legend (including myself).

It is also noticeable that overall offense is down in online games.

I think it is that the timing window I think is slightly less forgiving then last year and 2 I think the PCI placement is slightly less forgiving to.

I feel like it might not be the pitch speed but it may be the PCI sensitivity or there is a smaller window to move it. I am not sure but I used to hit high and inside heat easily and now it is almost impossible. I think it may just be in my head.

I've also noticed pitches that I usually foul straight back are now weak pop ups....

Its faster to me. I had to lower pitch speed from default to 3 at first because I was late on everything. Even breaking balls. I went back to 4, then default as my timing got better. Default seems to be my sweet spot.

For some reason it seems faster I am struggling this year and I am always late when it comes to hitting which leads to most of my hits being opposite field. This is with Directional Hitting by the way, I haven't tried zone yet.

I am still trying to figure out my timing. I time fastballs just fine on default speed (5) and am VERY early on changeups and breaking stuff. I normally have the opposite problem so i'm very confused. Usually with each new game it takes a few weeks to lock down the timing. Hitting in general seems more difficult in this years edition which i kind of appreciate. It should feel hard since the best hitters in baseball fail 7 out of 10 times.

As much as I hate to do it I may need to switch to button hitting. They really jacked up my timing by removing the ability to pull back on the stick to load your swing. This helped tremendously with timing and now I have none and am struggling mightily.

I understand and appreciate that they removed control of player's strides as the animation doesn't look so janky, but I hate that they made pulling back on the stick a power swing.

Re: Does pitch speed seem a bit faster?

New pitch breaks makes it easier to read offspeed for me, so I am able to sit fastball and react to the slow stuff better than in the past. Therefore, fastballs feel slower, but its because I'm sitting on them.

Pitch speed 10 on HoF btw.
